Such an important topic! PTSD is caused by an overwhelming experience which left an imprint on mind, brain and body. Traumatic events are usually defined as being life threatening, exceeding the persons normal resources and the inability to escape...giving birth is such an experience...therefore it is immensely important to increase the awareness regarding birth trauma to avoid that suffering mums are wrongly diagnosed. Birth trauma requires specialised treatment!
