Chinese Barley (Job’s Tears or Yi Yi Ren) is known to clear heat and drain dampness, making it a perfect cooling drink for Singapore's weather.

For TCM benefits, choose Chinese Barley over Pearl Barley where possible. But if you’re in it for taste and a smoother, softer texture, Pearl Barley can be enjoyed too for its milder flavour and quicker cooking time.

Lily Bulbs 百合 (bǎi hé)

Long days in the classroom and constant talking can lead to a feeling of being “overheated”.

In TCM, Lily Bulbs are Cold in nature, and can help individuals who have too much Heat in their body, to restore a healthy ‘Yin-Yang’ balance. Lily Bulbs are especially beneficial for soothing a tired throat, offering a sense of calm to your busy day!

✨ How to use it
The recommended daily dosage is 10-30g.
💧 Boil in water or herbal tea
🍲 Paired with ingredients like celery, meat, and red dates.

那就来一碗滋养又清热的【蒲公英排毒粥】吧!这款中医食疗有助清热解毒,利胆祛湿,让身体恢复轻盈舒畅。
🥣 材料
• 蒲公英 30克(新鲜的可放60克)
• 粳米 60克
• 红枣 15克
• 金银花 10克(可选,增强清热消炎效果)
🔖 做法
• 蒲公英浸泡30分钟,再煮30分钟
• 加入粳米、红枣、金银花煮至软烂
• 按个人口味调味,空腹温热享用最养人!

🥣 Ingredients:
• Dandelion (Pu Gong Ying) 30g (or 60g if fresh)
• Japonica Rice (Geng Mi) 60g
• Red Dates (Hong Zao) 15g
• Honeysuckle (Jin Yin Hua) 10g (for extra heat-clearing and anti-inflammatory effect)

🔖 Directions:
• Soak Dandelion in water for 30 mins, then boil for 30 mins
• Add rice, red dates, and honeysuckle and cook till rice is tender
• Add seasonings to taste & serve warm on empty stomach
