The Hari Raya Puasa holiday may be over, but the celebrations are far from being done! 🥳

Last Thursday, our AAC had our very first Hari Raya gathering for our fellow Muslim seniors in the area! The programme kicked off with some quick recaps about our centre and the activities available, followed by a crowd-favourite Bingo session filled with lots of energy and laughter from the crowd. Of course, no gathering is complete without some yummy food, and the seniors dug in to a mouth-watering halal lunch spread prepared especially for them. Terima kasih to everyone who joined us for our gathering! We hope you enjoyed yourselves and we’d love to see you again at our centre soon. 🥰

Often known as a ‘moving meditation’, taichi combines slow rhythmic movements with controlled breathing to cultivate inner peace through the practice of mindfulness. It is said that consistent practice of mindfulness exercises such as taichi helps to calm the mind, reduce stress and even lead to improve mental clarity.

Guided taichi sessions facilitated by HPB are held every week on Tuesday mornings! Get in touch with our AAC team to sign up or learn more details.

Throwback to a one-of-a-kind activity session at our AAC, where our very own lovely Arts & Crafts instructor Iris conducted a DIY workshop to make your own fragrant sachets using only natural ingredients! 🍋🌿🍃

In this session, participants learnt how to make fragrant sachets using only natural aromatics such as pandan leaves and lemongrass, giving off a spa-like feel throughout the entire session. Under the guidance of Iris and accompanied by the soothing scents of the ingredients used, seniors had a relaxing and enjoyable time with the craft, and got to bring home their creations coupled with wide smiles on their faces. 😊

𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻 ☕️

AACs in the neighbourhood came together earlier this week for Coffee Club, a hands-on coffee and barista workshop led by the Northshore Golden Brewers, a volunteer group from St Luke's ElderCare (SLEC). Held at SLEC’s upcoming Senior Care Centre in Fernvale, members of the facilitating group shared their passion and knowledge of all things coffee. In turn, seniors from Active Global and Methodist Welfare Services Active Ageing Centres learned how coffee machines brew their favourite drinks and even tried their hand at making their own cup - complete with latte art!��Thank you to the team at SLEC for hosting us and sharing the joy of coffee with our seniors!

As we near the end of the Chinese New Year period for 2026, let’s recap with some photos and videos of our very own celebrations in ushering the year of the Fire Horse at Active Global @ Fernvale Glades earlier this week!

The celebration was filled with engaging activities, including an art & craft session led by our volunteer Pauline, a Bingo segment with prizes, as well as a Lion Dance appearance and not one but two 财神爷 (God of Fortune) at our centre! Of course, no celebration is complete without some yummy food for all, and the celebration ended on a high with lohei and buffet lunch provided for all attendees. Thank you everyone for joining us in this celebration, and may we all have a fantastic year of the Fire Horse ahead! 🔥🐎
