[ Crafting Joy ]

What a joy to meet this group of sweet girls and lovely close knit family over a birthday jar lamp workshop we facilitated today 💕From seeing the girls helping one another put on their craft aprons, helping one another improve their paper cuts during the creative process to seeing the whole family helping each other out with hanging party decorations made my heart full 🥹❤️

We had fun creating a jar lamp from learning to paint a misty snowy effect to cutting out paper cuts, and of course the highlight was seeing everyone’s faces light up when we all turned on the fairy lights ✨😃✨

Thank you for having us create crafting memories for H’s birthday party today. We had a great time meeting all of you! 😍🥰 Family and Friends who craft together truly stay together 😍🥰 Happy Birthday dearest H! Keep smiling and shining always 🫶🐇✨💖

[ BTS ]

Varnishing a piece of jewellery bead is such a super duper happy process 🤭💕 It feels a lot like putting on a pretty dress on a special occasion after a week in every day clothes 🤭🙃 Each slow swipe of the varnish strokes on the painted flower beads made me smile at the reward of seeing how pretty the flowers shine beneath the coats of varnish ✨ (As I’m typing this caption, I’m waiting for the first coat to dry and gazing at the light shine on the flower glass beads) 🥹🌼

As I was focusing on the painting process of these glass beads the last few weeks and months, I’m grateful to painting artist buddies for helping me out with the varnishing process and also discussing/sharing advice/thoughts with me on the painting process. We had to R&D abit and really, I couldn’t have done this project alone! 🩷

This bespoke jewellery collection has so many parts to it and I’m really glad too for ‘s care and chill vibes to compliment my constantly “artist intense worry streak” if I’ll make it in time for our collaboration project timeline 😌🥲 I can’t wait to see this jewellery collection launched soon 🥲💕 Stay tuned and here’s sharing some precious BTS (behind the scenes) painting processes with all of you 🩷

[ Flower Glass Beads ]

No, I didn’t wear this pretty blouse lovingly thrifted from .sg to paint today. Yes, I dressed up for this post, dressed up for my beads———to celebrate a commitment to complete painting these flower glass beads 😍🫶 I am still left with the smaller and medium beads but it’s okay because tomorrow is another new day to begin again 🙏💕

In January this year when I embarked on this project, I deliberately took on a more difficult route first when deciding which beads I should first paint and decided to go with painting the flower glass beads with more details 🥹🌼 Doubts? Yes, many times especially when my strength and energy failed me when I fell ill with a horrible flu bug last two weeks over CNY. My head was worrying if I could meet my deadline of getting the beads ready to be fitted with the gemstones. My heart was anxious. Even when I rested, I was thinking about what’s gonna happen to my beads 🥲🌹🌻🦋 My heart is dancing a happy dance to be able reach this little process milestone today 🥲🌹🌼

So grateful when I woke up this morning to pray for strength to complete my flower beads, strength and joy truly showed up faithfully from within 😭🙏🌞 What I have learnt from this little act of commitment and faithfulness to complete these flower beads cannot fully compare to the providence the Creator of this universe who neither slumbers or sleeps is faithfully balancing the whole earth everyday with the sun, stars and moon cycle 🌞🌝⭐️

Thankful and super grateful 199.99999%❣️ and do continue to cheer me on to the completion of hand painting these flower glass beads for this special jewellery collaboration with friends at , okay? ❤️

To a new day tomorrow 🫶

[ Bottle Art Jammin’ ]

Did you noticed that yesterday was such a special “once in a life time” 26-02-2026 date? 😉🥳 I only realised this when I was chatting with the lovely staff and students at NIE over bottle art jamming and a student asked me for the day’s date so she could add it in her artwork design! ☺️🥲

Thank you National Institute of Education (NIE) for having the sunshine team be part of the campus fringe activities to support your meaningful blood donation drive event together with team Scottie Crafts SG 🥰 Both and I had such a lovely time meeting everyone who dropped by our booth to try bottle art jamming together 🍾🎨

I was so personally inspired and touched by (truly!) the sweetest NIE students and staff who took a pause in the day to have short chats, said hi, shared your stories, teaching journey and made time to draw & design a little something for yourself 🥹💕 There were so many beautiful bottle artworks that displayed words of encouragement, words of affirmations, a prayer for her family, meaningful quotes, and even a self portrait drawn by a chemistry NIE student! All your heartfelt drawings of cute things that perk you up in life carries such a special story behind it and I hope your bottle artwork will continue to inspire your journey at ❤️

Thank you for taking a gratitude pause with us! Here’s sharing some snapshots of the beautiful bottle artworks captured yesterday🥰 Till our next workshop event again, here’s also leaving a lovely quote written by a NIE Physical Education student on her bottle art ——— be brave, be grateful, be you ———for the weekend ahead 🫶

[ Art On Everyday Objects ]

It’s been a while since I hosted a workshop at my home studio and I’m so pleased to meet this group of lovely ladies who joined me over the weekend for our Art on Everyday Objects workshop! 😍😍

We had much fun learning about glass painting techniques and spent the next couple of hours painting away on mason jars! 🎨🫟 It was also such a joy hearing laughter and jokes fill my home studio from this sweet group of girlfriends whose friendship have span over such a long time——since secondary school days! 😍🫶

Thank you dear ladies for making time to cherish the little creative child in you and making meaningful friendship memories by painting together! My heart-tank is full——from seeing how all your cutest creations turned out ❤️❤️

[ Bead By Bead ]

And just like that, we have entered into the second month of 2026, February where Spring approaches 🌸🌼

It took me a while to adjust to the new year and lately——I’m starting bit by bit, going back to basics and painting lots of glass beads, bead by bead and putting my 老花眼 (old eyes) up for a good challenge 🤓🤭🥲 These glass beads will be part of an upcoming jewellery collab with friends from ❤️ As each bead is lovingly handpainted, they will take a while to be ready, so do stay tuned for our launch in a couple of months! 🥰

Painting is painfully humbling to every part of my fibre that wants to speed up the creative process 🥹🙏 Painting reminds me that it’s okay to begin over and over again everyday. Painting reminds me to slow down, and grow patience (which is totally not my virtue!). The slow life; hand-painting our customised and bespoke gifts keeps me humbly in check to remember the faster the world, the slower the heart needs to go 🎨🖌️💕

Here’s sharing some behind the scenes photos/vids documenting the bead by bead———slow life painting process 🥲☺️💕

Here’s a little fun upcycling craft to try out if you’re like me ~~~ feeling a tad moody and not 💯 ready to transit from Christmas to the upcoming Lunar New Year in February 🤭🙃🌸🩷

How’s everyone doing? 🥰

[ Hidden Gems 💎 ]

Lived in Queenstown almost half my life, and worked in this quaint hood for 10 years as a crafter in my home studio, I never knew we had a pretty pale green brick wall, old school stone benches with a colourful HDB backdrop and such gorgeous white ventilation blocks - ALL near Stirling Road! 😍😍😍

Pretty obsessed with them! 💚🤍🩶🧡

Met new friends located in the Queenstown hood today and got obsessed (too!!) with Zeeks and Cam’s homemade sea salt orange pound cake and coffee!!! ☕️🍰 They just opened 4 months ago and I love their soulful presence to this hood 🥰 It’s such a joyful heartbeat as a small craft business owner when I get to meet other small businesses - what more in my own Queenstown neighbourhood ❤️

Have a happy weekend ahead everybuddy 🫶

[ Flower Power ]

This old IKEA white stool has been sitting outside our home studio for a while. I figured it would be fun to paint something new on something old to start the creative energy going for the start of 2026 😊❤️

Wanted spring and summer colours to brighten up the home studio …. So here goes: Flower Power!! 🌸🌼🌺 Perfectly imperfect and that’s what I love about handpainted 💕

May the start of 2026 be a kind and gentle one for you x

[ A Decade❣️]

These pictures at our Thanksgiving lunch gathering today represent a decade of journeying with my dearest sunshine buddies who have accompanied me walking this narrow path to see our sunshine workshops and pop ups come through. There are tough days, anxious days, tired days, good days, happy days and mostly really grateful days at how encouraging words from our customers and clients gives me/us joy to go on. Words alone cannot describe how my heart feels! Pretty unreal if you ask me 🥹🥲 and 2015-2025 has been such a dream and blessing with all of you in it! I don’t take this 10 years for granted and its not that we have made it to be anything but how very far we have come 🥹❤️

Thank you ~

.musings .co .see Buay Hock ~ for making time to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together, designing a journal with me, and also trying your hand at answering our “tricky” sunshine trivia questions on slido 😁😆🤪 Each of your presence today is a special blessing to me ❤️

Thank you too for making all the cute cookie faces for our desserts! 🤤🍪 It was da best oatmeal raisins cookies that melted our hearts 🥰

Thankful that we could be Ah Ma United with the lovely team from Museum of Food collaborating this December holiday with our first tingkat craft workshop specially designed for Singapore children ❤️

I had so much fun looking for an Ah Ma top for this workshop 😝🫶 and dug out my dusty glue gun to make (many!) cardboard tingkats from scratch for all our participants 🤪❣️

What a lovely end to December 2025 🥰
Please look out for Version Two , My Ah Ma’s Kitchen in 2026! 🌟😊

With much love,

Our Story

“For the love of sunshine & handpainted gifts”

Sunshine & Love is a local artisan who focuses on creating happy handpainted gifts from your everyday objects. We love seeing these seemingly mundane items get transformed into unique works of art that can be used as vases, drinking jars, stationery holders, money banks, home decoration items etc. Every item created is unique and 100% handpainted.

About the Chief Painter

Amelia enjoys handpainting on your everyday objects like mason jars, plates, mugs, beer bottles, and even pasta sauce bottles! She loves seeing them transformed into happy gifts for the people around her. One of the things Amelia enjoys the most about creating jar and plate art is when her clients share their gift requests and design ideals. Each request is so unique and special! Besides individual requests, her clients include Sew Into It, All Saints Home, Coffee Today Cafe, Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, WorldWide Marriage Encounter, Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She has also collaborated with Terra Village, Sprout Language Centre and Chinatown Heritage Centre for festive workshops and events. Other signature events that Amelia has participated in include Singapore Design Week, Makers Faire, ArtBox Singapore, Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival Light up and URA’s Streets for People. Amelia currently also runs workshops at her cosy home studio conveniently located at Queenstown. For more of Amelia's handpainted gifts, you can also check out @sunshinenlove_sg on Instagram!
