[ Flower Power ]

This old IKEA white stool has been sitting outside our home studio for a while. I figured it would be fun to paint something new on something old to start the creative energy going for the start of 2026 😊❤️

Wanted spring and summer colours to brighten up the home studio …. So here goes: Flower Power!! 🌸🌼🌺 Perfectly imperfect and that’s what I love about handpainted 💕

May the start of 2026 be a kind and gentle one for you x

[ A Decade❣️]

These pictures at our Thanksgiving lunch gathering today represent a decade of journeying with my dearest sunshine buddies who have accompanied me walking this narrow path to see our sunshine workshops and pop ups come through. There are tough days, anxious days, tired days, good days, happy days and mostly really grateful days at how encouraging words from our customers and clients gives me/us joy to go on. Words alone cannot describe how my heart feels! Pretty unreal if you ask me 🥹🥲 and 2015-2025 has been such a dream and blessing with all of you in it! I don’t take this 10 years for granted and its not that we have made it to be anything but how very far we have come 🥹❤️

Thank you ~

.musings .co .see Buay Hock ~ for making time to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together, designing a journal with me, and also trying your hand at answering our “tricky” sunshine trivia questions on slido 😁😆🤪 Each of your presence today is a special blessing to me ❤️

Thank you too for making all the cute cookie faces for our desserts! 🤤🍪 It was da best oatmeal raisins cookies that melted our hearts 🥰

Thankful that we could be Ah Ma United with the lovely team from Museum of Food collaborating this December holiday with our first tingkat craft workshop specially designed for Singapore children ❤️

I had so much fun looking for an Ah Ma top for this workshop 😝🫶 and dug out my dusty glue gun to make (many!) cardboard tingkats from scratch for all our participants 🤪❣️

What a lovely end to December 2025 🥰
Please look out for Version Two , My Ah Ma’s Kitchen in 2026! 🌟😊

With much love,

[ Craft Buffet ]

Throwback to two weeks ago in November, we spent a lovely Friday afternoon together with 89 participants making jesmonite coasters, clay food charms, designing yarn art, coffee mugs and also learning to carve on stamps as part of a corporate team bonding session ❤️

Here’s some photo captures of the creative process that our participants experienced 😊🌟 It was pretty amazing to see colleagues from various departments coming together to make time to chat with one another and craft a little something for themselves 🥰

No (wo) man is an island and I’m so glad I have craft partners to work on this project together ⭐️🫶 A big shout out of thanks to Scottie Crafts SG Terra SG Baisimu Fun With Artz Miniatures for all the hard and heart work to make this craft buffet possible! 🫶🙂 Couldn’t have done this event without all of you 🥹🙏🌟 Our last craft buffet event was in 2019 (pre-Covid days) and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity again this year to organise and facilitate this craft event for our client 😊🙏

As we approach December 2025, here’s wishing everyone a sacred and blessed time of restedness, reflection and rejoicing with your loved ones during this special festive season!🎄💕✨

🔟🧡

Yesterday was a really special milestone where Sunshine&Love turned 10 (🧡🧡🧡). and I quietly took off to a nearby beach resort to take a day off to enjoy the sun, sea and waves - to unwind from a really beautiful busy October month ☀️🌊 Initially, we wished we could have caught the earlier ferry back to SG instead of taking the last ferry at 7.15pm, BUT it turned out to be the greatest sunshine birthday blessing ever (❣️) coz we got to see a gorgeous sunset by the beach as we were leaving! 😭💛 It was a beautiful reminder the same sun that shined on sunshine & love 10 years ago, is still the same sun that shines on us today 😭💛

It was also such a sweet coincidence that my Boss Jeanette Aw of .sg released her latest YouTube episode of JA Unscripted of a glass painting workshop session we had at our home studio - this same weekend of our milestone birthday! So I actually watched the episode for the first time at the resort’s hotel room! 🫶 Thank you Boss , and the amazing crew team behind JA Unscripted for making this “Painting Sunshine After The Rain” episode possible 🌦️🌞🧡 I’m beyond amazement at how the stars just magically aligned 🌟 and to be able to watch this heartfelt episode on my 10th year milestone is such a precious gift to my heart space. Thank you so much! ❤️

Lastly, to dear friends and clients of Sunshine & Love, thank you (yes, you reading this! 🧡) for journeying through ALL the ups and downs of this 10 years with me. I’m grateful for your friendship, support, encouragement, love and smiles that has kept me going when the going gets tough. I’m throughly grateful that rough patches don’t last forever and that in the midst of those dark moments, we can lean in to love, hope and light ✨❤️

[ Meow Moments ]

And it’s a wrap for us this Oct Saturday at !! ❤️

We had such a wonderful time with all of you who dropped by to paint blob cats (and one dog!) on glass with us 🤪🫶🐈🫟 It made my heart swell with so much joy seeing ALL OF YOU trying out glass painting at our workshop activity booth!

Blobs are such fun shapes to paint and it was such a magical moment seeing your smiles when your blob cats came alive - from adding the black paint marker details 😻😻😻 I love how enthusiastic our young participants were too when they were painting with their mommy and daddy! 🥰 It was really heartwarming for me to see families taking time out to paint together to discuss about colours, what blob shapes to paint 🎨🫶🫟💕🥰

🫶 To dearest vendor friends whom I met today at this pop up, thank you so much for the thoughtful conversations, gifts and hugs 🥰 Let’s keep creating together ok! ❤️

🫶 To my sweetest friends who made time to drop by, thank you so so much for your gift of presence! Seeing your smiles really brightened up my day! ❤️

🫶 To , thank you for being such a pal to hang around till closing time and helping me with packing up! Appreciate you so much 🥲❤️

🫶 To event organisers .sg , thank you soooo much for everything 😭❤️ The late nights, the planning, the scheduling and many more behind the scenes work that you do to make this event work. Thank you for taking care of us all ❤️

🫶 Lastly, thank you (❣️) for running 101 million errands for me and for just being around. I appreciate your support and presence v v much 🥲❤️

Till the next sunshine pop up, stay meow-mazing everybuddy! 💕

P.S. We will be taking a short break over the Deepavali weekend and come back renewed and refreshed for Nov-Dec 🏖️

[ For The Love Of Cats ]

I have a secret to share….but please don’t judge me for being part of a cat event this upcoming weekend! 🫣🥹 I am actually a dog person but because soooo many of my friends are cat owners, I also started learning to love cats 🐈💕 Please meet my ‘pet’ cats 小黑 and 小白 (whom both are very precious to me 🐈‍⬛ I wish I can hug more black cats in this world and this white tiger plushie is a precious gift to me when I used to work in the Singapore Zoo 🙂)

This Saturday 18 October, we will be sunshine-ing for a day at facilitating a PAINT A BLOB CAT ON GLASS workshop 🫟🐈 I’m really excited to launch this new workshop booth activity of ours where we will learn to create cute cats from blob paints! These non toxic paints are from Germany and after which when your handpainted glasses are fired in an oven, you can use the glasses for nacho sauces, mini snack bowls etc and even as a trinket dish!

No registration is needed, just walk in (limited to first come first serve arrival and availability of glasses) 🎨 This workshop is recommended for age 9 years and above. 10% of our workshop proceeds will go to to support the amazing work they are doing ❤️

I’m also really excited to share we have topped up our stock of limited edition wellness pins AND added in 5 new designs - just for this weekend! A restful sloth 🦥 , a sleepy star 🌟 and adorable astronauts having fun while they are studying the galaxy! 🌌 We hope these pins will cheer your day and inspire joyful daily reminders to play, smile, rest and be well 🥰

Till we see you at: FOR THE LOVE OF CAT
64 Club Street, 18 October, Saturday
10am - 5pm, please stay pawsome and have a purrfect day ahead!!! 😻

L O V E

When the brief was shared to us - to come up with a craft proposal for 18 months to 6 years old for a Children’s Day celebration at Kindle Garden Preschool, Singapore’s 1st Inclusive Preschool - the first word that came to my mind was L O V E. We decided to flow along with this thought and was inspired by American artist Robert Indiana’s iconic Love 🥰

Together with the sunshine team, we made canvas boards with negative spaces of Love using artist tape and decided we would name this artwork process Love In Colours as we wanted the children to experiment and experience gradient painting with psychedelic colours 🎨 We also wanted to incorporate in a sensory element of art on everyday objects so we made brushes using cotton balls and wooden pegs for the children to work on ☺️🤲

It was really an amazing experience for us all to see the children faces lit up as they enjoyed the painting process and peeling off the artist tape to reveal Love together! 🫶 There was a heartfelt moment that really touched me when I saw one of the Kindler taking a while more to peel off her artist tape from the canvas board. She told me she was actually helping her classmate who wasn’t able to peel off the tape himself.

It was such a precious moment for me to witness this - where we can be a loving gift to each other when we show compassion, empathy, and kindness in helping our friends, moving forward as a community together in the little things we do 🥹❤️

Words cannot fully express how grateful and thankful I am towards Lendlease and AWWA for having the Sunshine&Love team be part of this amazing experience painting LOVE with the children at Kindle Garden - together with the dedicated volunteers and passionate teachers. Thank you for having us! ❤️

[ Bottle Art Jamming ]

And it’s a wrap this weekend of bottle art jamming at with all these beautiful fellow vendors turned friends I got to know ❣️❣️❣️

It’s been a while since we had a pop up activity booth and I was honestly nervous how it will turn out. But you know I’m (still) learning that our 101 worries are usually much more magnified when it’s in our heads and I gotta learn to trust the unfolding process 🥲🥹🙏 The weekend turned out to be such a fun one because not only did my buddy whom I did art with in primary-secondary school offered to help me out at the booth, so many of you popped by to give bottle art jamming a try and showed so much support to our newly launched wellness pins! 🥲♥️

It was really heartening to see parents, teenagers and children art jamming together; people who dropped by taking time to pause & read the words on our wellness pins 🥲💕 In our fast paced everyday life, my emo heart gets happy when I see people taking time to slow down, to create and make art together - to know (hey, so) I’m not the only silly sloth on this earth who thinks slow life is cool lol 🦥😆 Thank YOU all for joining us to breathe new life into beautiful upcycled glass bottles ❤️

P.S. To my dearest friends who came by, thank YOU for the company !!! Your presence is such a gift to me 🧡 To my bro , niece, mum and dad who popped by to surprise me, thank you for the liang cha and lovely support! It made a difference to see you all 💛 Lastly, to event organisers Kay , Christine .sg and Mui Leng , you are amazing! Thank you for creating this event space where we can celebrate community 💕

➡️🌞~ Till we see you all at our next sunshine workshop activity“Paint Blob Cats on Glass” at on 18 Oct, Saturday, let’s keep smiling and keep our chins up together x 🙂😍

The event theme for this weekend is REVIVE, REMAKE & REIMAGINE and I’m so thankful to team .sg for inviting us to be part of this❣️Together, and I have spent the past weeks cleaning up craft beer bottles for this art jam and it’s so meaningful for my heart to see how we can revive, remake and reimagine how these bottles can turn into everyday art that can be displayed in your homes or offices 🥹🥲

[ Sept - Oct Shenanigans ]

Last night I had a bad dream which might have sprouted from a place where I felt a tad anxious if I was in a good timeline to manage my upcoming October projects - pre-event jitters 🥹🥲🙏 But you know life is still good because the reality is bad dreams don’t last and God makes living life itself beautiful 😭💕

After I started the mid-day with AMAZING coffee at , collecting my printed event posters for our upcoming October event workshops at , I thought I’ll pop by Meiling Street neighbourhood to support our local businesses and get some workshop supplies for a CSR community project which the sunshine team will be involved in.

LO and BEHOLD, as I was leaving Meiling Street, I spotted a cute handmade signboard that says Lee Craft! 😍😍 I couldn’t resist popping in and met Ms Lee who is a crafter who just moved in the neighbourhood a year ago selling handmade crafts in her colourful shop! I couldn’t resist but to buy a few handmade items that caught my eye!! (Swipe to the last 3 photos to see them displayed in my home studio!) 🪴🌈🌼🪷

As I was about to leave, I saw another lady taking pictures of flowers next door and curiously asked if this was a flower shop and found out she’s a pressed flower crafter (❣️) and we ended up chatting about a common crafter friend we know 😭❤️

What a lovely-lovely day of much beautiful shenanigans that encouraged my heart and made my bad dream disappear in a puff! ❤️

P.S. It was so amazing to meet you both Ms Lee , Rora and discovering we both know 😍😍 Thank YOU for bringing my day joy with your craft creations, conversations and stories ❤️❤️

I’m grateful and inspired by how amazing life can be ♥️🙂

[ Let your light shine ]

So grateful to have the opportunity to facilitate a Teachers’ day appreciation craft workshop for the Sunday School team at QLC earlier this afternoon ❤️

Together, we learnt to make a personalised paper cut jar lamp 😌✨ It was such a treat to see everyone’s smiles, craft alongside one another and hear the creative inner child’s inspiration behind each jar lamp story 🥰

It was lovely to also see banter amongst the team joking how the roles are reversed as they are now the students instead of being in their usual teacher roles 🤭😜🤩

May the beautiful jar lamps made today remind you what a blessing you are to the children whom you guide every week, dear teachers! Continue to let your light shine bright ✨✨✨ Happy Teachers’ Day! 🤩

📸: Thanks and for helping me capture such additional awesome photos!

Our Story

“For the love of sunshine & handpainted gifts”

Sunshine & Love is a local artisan who focuses on creating happy handpainted gifts from your everyday objects. We love seeing these seemingly mundane items get transformed into unique works of art that can be used as vases, drinking jars, stationery holders, money banks, home decoration items etc. Every item created is unique and 100% handpainted.

About the Chief Painter

Amelia enjoys handpainting on your everyday objects like mason jars, plates, mugs, beer bottles, and even pasta sauce bottles! She loves seeing them transformed into happy gifts for the people around her. One of the things Amelia enjoys the most about creating jar and plate art is when her clients share their gift requests and design ideals. Each request is so unique and special! Besides individual requests, her clients include Sew Into It, All Saints Home, Coffee Today Cafe, Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, WorldWide Marriage Encounter, Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She has also collaborated with Terra Village, Sprout Language Centre and Chinatown Heritage Centre for festive workshops and events. Other signature events that Amelia has participated in include Singapore Design Week, Makers Faire, ArtBox Singapore, Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival Light up and URA’s Streets for People. Amelia currently also runs workshops at her cosy home studio conveniently located at Queenstown. For more of Amelia's handpainted gifts, you can also check out @sunshinenlove_sg on Instagram!
