Stress can be silent and damaging for decades without causing major mental illness or diminished performance. But the physiological and metabolic changes are far from minor or negligible.

Modern medicinal approaches offer little to acknowledge or alleviate these effects of stress. On the other hand, ancient wisdom has many tools that take stress and well being into account to define healthy living. Yoga is one such method, that comes from Ancient India. Several eastern traditions have similar tools or modalities.

The benefits of Yoga are numerous. They are a slow but steady way to address systemic damage related to stress and modern lifestyles. Do give it a shot (and patience 🙂) to realise what you have missed!

Here are 7️⃣ simple ways you can instantly achieve a better night’s sleep:

✅Take a warm shower or bath before bed to help cool your core temperature and drift off to sleep more easily.

✅Create a hard cut-off time for stimulants like caffeine and ni****ne. At least six hours before bedtime should be the minimum.

✅Make sure your room is cool, dark, and quiet to help you sleep uninterrupted.

✅Create a consistent sleep and wake schedule, even on weekends.

✅Dim your home in the hours leading to sleep, as darkness acts as a cue for sleep.

✅ Write down pending tasks and plans to be implemented the next day. This way you can avoid the anxiety while you set out to sleep.

✅ Follow a bedtime routine 30-60min prior to sleeping. Some examples are reading or listening to a book( avoid ebook on mobiles or tablets due to blue light stimulus), journaling, affirmations, listen to a podcast or soothing music, meditate, yoga nidhra, etc
