Kicking Off 2025 with Wellness and Togetherness! ✨

We had a fantastic turnout for our first support group event of 2025 in February!

The day started with a wellness reflection talk by Prof. Peter Mack, setting a meaningful tone for the event.

This was followed by an inspiring sharing session from Ms. Jessie, one of our warriors, who reflected on her travel experiences.

Next, we dived into an interactive TCM wellness workshop led by Ms. Hui Fang from Ouch Pte Ltd. Members enjoyed learning simple acupuncture massage techniques and wellness tips that were both practical and beneficial.

A special highlight of the event was the presentation of a gorgeous batik art piece to our newly appointed SGH CEO, Prof. Tan Hiang Khoon.

This meaningful artwork was a collective effort by our warriors, painted during our Batik Workshop in October—a true symbol of unity and resilience.

We wrapped up the day with a Lohei, celebrating good fortune and health, followed by a sumptuous lunch filled with laughter and warm conversations.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event possible!

Looking forward to more meaningful gatherings ahead.

Hope everyone is having a festive end to the year!

We celebrated our Year-End Party and 7th Anniversary event on 14th December 2024 with an extremely meaningful and heartwarming program.

The event began with an inspirational video showcasing the incredible journeys of Mr Clement Lee and Mr James Wong, setting the tone for the day.

This was followed by an engaging art therapy workshop led by SGH Art Therapist Ms. Theodora.

The workshop was both fascinating and therapeutic, as it encouraged all of us to open our hearts and reflect on our experiences in 2024 while expressing our hopes for 2025.

Everyone actively participated in the art activities, sharing their thoughts and emotions, making new friends, and enjoying the festive atmosphere.

It was truly a satisfying and memorable way to end the year together.

Stay tuned here for more exciting activities coming your way in 2025! We cannot wait to meet new friends (and old ones too!) in the new year!

We have been busy this holiday season, so please excuse this belated post!

On 30th November 2024, our Ukulele and Singing group had the privilege of performing at Changi General Hospital (CGH)'s year-end party.

The event began with an inspiring sharing session by Mr James Wong, who spoke about building self-confidence and mental resilience on the road to recovery. His talk was deeply impactful, and resonated with everyone present.

Following his session, our group performed to the best of our ability, engaging the audience with uplifting songs that brought joy and energy to the event! It was a wonderful experience, filled with meaningful moments and enthusiastic participation from the crowd.

As we approach the end of the year, let us take some time for reflection and thanksgiving, and see the silver lining in any clouds that might be on our horizon;)

Pardon for the tardy post, but here are some of the pictures from our last event held on 26th October 2024!

In conjunction with Liver Cancer Awareness Month, Senior Consultant, Dr Teo Jin Yao from our SGH Department of HPB and Transplant Surgery presented an enriching talk on Liver Cancer from which all of our participants learnt plenty!

Following which, Mr James Wong, one of our cancer survivors from Liver and Pancreas Support Group by SGH Dept of HPB and Transplant Surgery held a sharing session which no doubt was inspirational and touching to the patients and their caregivers!

Lastly, the morning was rounded off by a Batik Workshop by Cikgu Na'aim, where everyone got to paint individually and combine their pieces to create a truly stunning and beautiful work of art; one would never guess that it was their first time!

Looking forward to seeing you all at our next event; details to follow very soon!

Our very own Ms Julianah Bee attended the Fashion for Cancer Show last month of the behalf of the our team!

Here is an account of her experience:

"Attending the Fashion for Cancer Show on 31st August was an incredibly inspiring experience.

Watching these amazing cancer warriors confidently strut down the runway like professional models was nothing short of empowering.

This charity fashion show, founded by Ms. Ong Bee Yan and held at The Westin Singapore, featured cancer warriors as runway models to raise funds for cancer research and financial aid.

Their strength, resilience, and grace shone through every step, reminding us all of the beauty in overcoming life’s toughest battles.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for creating such a meaningful event that not only celebrates these brave individuals but also supports the cancer community. We are deeply moved by their stories and bravery!"

Last Saturday (7th Sept 2024), we held our very first Dish Garden Workshop at Changi General Hospital (CGH), made possible with the support of A/Prof. Adrian Chiow, Head of Department of General Surgery and Chief of HPB Surgery.

We kicked off with an energetic and refreshing exercise led by one of our warriors, Ms. Ruo Shae, setting the perfect tone for the day!

We then moved on to a reflective session called STONES, guided by Mr. Farid, where participants explored deeper thoughts and inspirations.

After that, Mr. Farid led the hands-on dish garden workshop, allowing everyone to unleash their creativity.

The results? Absolutely stunning dish gardens crafted by our talented members!

It was a day of creativity, connection, and growth.

Thank you to everyone who joined and made this event a success! We look forward to seeing you at the next event!
