I recently had the privilege of conducting a TCM workshop for senior citizens, and it turned into such a heartwarming experience. He used to hold my hand.. Now I hold onto him tightly..

When my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, I started holding onto him tightly.. I became the primary caregiver, bringing him to the various specialists, medical appointments and treatments.

I used to say โ€œI am more tired than my dad whenever we go to the cancer centre. He sits down comfortably playing with his sudoku while I go to the various levels to get his appointments (scan appointment at B2, collect drugs at the pharmacy at Level 1, book next medical appointment at Level 2, get chemotherapy slots at Level 3 etc)โ€

These are small things compared to his fear of medication and needles which are a daily and weekly affair..

I happily took on the role of the primary caregiver as my work timing is more flexible as compared to my mum and brother. This led to me being responsible for EVERYTHING regarding my dad. Mum and brother sometimes took me for granted. I was rather unhappy and angry during those moments.
