Donald J. Trumpโs Speech:
"If I give you one message to hold in your hearts today. It is this. ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฉ. There will be times in your life you will want to quit. You will want to go home. You will want to go home perhaps to that wonderful mother that is sitting back there watching you and say "Mom, I can't do it. I can't do it". Just never quit. Go back home and tell Mom, Dad "I can do it, I can do it".
You are going to be successful.
I have seen so many brilliant people. They gave up in life. They were totally brilliant. They were top of their class. They were the best students. They were the best of everything. They gave up. I have seen others who didn't have that talent or that ability. And they are among the most successful people today in the world. Because they never quit, and they never gave up.
So just remember that never stop fighting for what you believe in and for the people who care about you"
Donald J Trump's speech reflects a quiet truth in today's world that it's just too easy to give upโwhether in relationships, health, or wealth. (Gen Zs, I am writing for you)
Trump has -900 million in liabilities in 1991. It feels sucky to be massively in debt, but his inner conversation is that he still has to enjoy it.
My core message to you is this: "๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ฉ".
There are brilliant people who end up in places they donโt want to be, and others who arenโt as talented but achieve their own version of success.
๐๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ฆ๐๐ค๐๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐?
Success comes from aligning your actions with your vision and mission (if you have one, else find it), thinking big, setting and achieving goals, solving problems, and keeping things simple.
It is none like what our system teaches you in terms of your money, status, material, car, house, luxuries, properties etc.
Do successful people fail? Absolutely.
Do they give up? Never.
You donโt need a Ph.D., an MBA, a degree or even a proper cert to be successful.
Itโs about your vision, mission, and purpose. You decide and create your own success and make sure this dream of yours is worth your full unfiltered, razor sharped focus and dedication.
If you find yourself constantly complaining or explaining why things are right and wrong (CPF, inflation), fair or not fair (status, resources), logical or not logical (how come like this, puzzled, lost), you are giving away your power.
Blaming others or circumstances makes you a victim.
Instead, take personal responsibility and ownership. Reward yourself for taking personal responsibility. (a phrase I heard from a prominent leader)
Personal responsibility and ownership give an individual the opportunity to set things right, to do it his own way and to live life on his own terms.
Having the tendency to be negative, procrastinate and be entitled removes both personal responsibility and ownership from you.
Once upon a time, I didnโt quite understand what true ownership and personal responsibility meant.
I complained, blamed, and pointed fingers (just following the majority on social media and in real life), sabotaging my own growth and development.
Observe the victim mentality in that person.
When you blame your government, your community, your family, your relatives, your siblings, your children, a stranger, your boss, your employee, or your spouse and everything else, have you ever noticed it comes from a space of feeling helpless?
Instead, take your control back and reflect deep to find and solve those innate problems, aiming to grow 1% better each day.
This also means not abusively bashing your self-esteem for committing mistakes. But to embrace your flaws with a positive frame in order to see the bigger outlook and picture.
As progressive individuals, we build progressive societies, which in turn create progressive nations.
There's a meme that goes around:
Hard Times Create Strong Men
Strong Men Create Good Times
Good Times Create Weak Men
Weak Men Create Hard Times
This is only half true.
The timeless truth is that times donโt define men.
Men define themselves (if it is a conscious choice)
Let me give you more clarity.
Sometimes, you might feel like giving up because something isnโt working. Remember, giving up and letting go are different.
Doing something new and letting go of what doesnโt work isnโt giving up. Itโs about being clear on your vision, mission and purpose, eliminating what doesnโt work, and moving forward.
So, the next time you feel like giving up, re-read or save this post/message.
You always have a choice to embrace personal responsibility and ownership.
Make every life decision count before you leave Earth for a better place.
