1) Volunteering can provide a healthy boost to your self-confidence, self-esteem, and life satisfaction. You are doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment. Your role as a volunteer can also give you a sense of pride and identity.And the better you feel about yourself, the more likely you are to have a positive view of your life and future goals.

2) Volunteering combats depression.
Reducing the risk of depression is another important benefit of volunteering. A key risk factor for depression is social isolation. Volunteering keeps you in regular contact with others and helps you develop a solid support system, which in turn protects you against stress and depression when you’re going through challenging times. Working with pets and other animals has also been shown to improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety.

3) Volunteering helps you stay physically healthy. Volunteering is good for your health at any age, but it’s especially beneficial in older adults. Studies have found that those who volunteer have a lower mortality rate than those who do not, even when considering factors like the health of the participants. Volunteering has also been shown to lessen symptoms of chronic pain or heart disease.

So many years of education yet nobody ever taught us how to love ourselves and why it’s so important

It's about taking ownership of your thoughts and beliefs and refusing to be swayed by others.

It's being kind with oneself and speaking to oneself in a gentle and sweet manner.

It's having the confidence to do new things you've always wanted to attempt.

The truth is you can never be happy with yourself, you can never feel fulfilled in this life if you do not love yourself

Love yourself enough to know that you are worthy. Begin to practice self-love and see how your life will change for the better.

Providing support to our friends is good both for them and for us. Friends who feel supported tend to be more mentally and physically healthy. This might be because support from our friends and family is a strong buffer against the stress caused by tough times. When we support another person, it helps strengthen our relationship with that person, and makes us feel better too (with the benefits being even greater when we feel like we’ve done a good job helping). It also helps increase our sense of belonging and purpose.
