He had the unique experience of stitching a chicken thigh remotely—thousands of kilometres away—using a robotic surgical system, highlighting the potential of telesurgery.

Pleural effusion, often referred to as water on the lungs, occurs when there is an excessive accumulation of fluid in the space between the lungs and the chest cavity.

The lungs are covered by thin membranes known as pleura, which also line the inside of the chest cavity. A small amount of fluid is normally present in this lining to lubricate the lungs as they expand and contract during breathing. This fluid is typically drained by lymphatic capillaries as excessive fluid buildup puts pressure on the lungs.

Common signs of pleural effusion include:
Chest pain
Dry cough
Fever
Difficulty breathing when lying down
Shortness of breath
Trouble taking deep breaths
Persistent hiccups
Challenges with physical activity
