Compliments to our P2P network of civilian responders in our heartlands being awarded the by the Singapore Civil Defence Force SCDF 4th Division HQ on Friday 9 January 2026.

The Community First Responder Award (CFRA) by the Singapore Civil Defence Force is presented to members of the public who stepped forward to render assistance to others in distress and/or save property. The award comprises a framed certificate with an embossed silver seal.

Thank you brothers borne with grit, courage and moulded in cases and helping whenever wherever they are!

We would also like to remind neighbours and residents to stay safe, be prepared and always remember not in haste, to turn off your kitchen stoves when leaving nor overloading home appliances, so we may return home safe and wholesome ahead.

11-year-old girl, Ms Hu Zihan, a Red Cross youth volunteer used the Heimlich manoeuvre (or abdominal thrust) to save a woman choking on bubble tea in China.

The Heimlich maneuver is a first-aid method for choking. Choking is when a person canโ€™t breathe because food, a toy or another foreign item is blocking their throat or windpipe (trachea). Another name for the Heimlich maneuver is abdominal thrusts. You can use it in different ways on adults and children.

Other Observations (if any): CFRs arrived on scene safely and identified themselves.

As CFRs observed, the patient was alert and conscious, with SCDF Officers/Paramedics arriving and taken over the care of the patient.

As CFRs resources were not needed, CFRs then stood down from active First Responder readiness, and retired from the scene.

Join us this Saturday, 17 May 2025, from 9am to 11am, for the ๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐˜† ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐˜€ (๐—˜๐— ๐—ฆ) ๐—”๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐——๐—ฎ๐˜† at the four designated fire stations:

- Alexandra Fire Station
- Paya Lebar Fire Station
- Punggol Fire Station
- Jurong Fire Station

Held as part of EMS week, visitors can expect to learn more about SCDFโ€™s EMS, basic lifesaving skills, and demonstration of different medical scenarios.
