Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital boasts 750 beds in nursing home care at our Serangoon Road main site and more than 400 beds at our second nursing home, KWSH @ Potong Pasir. Our trained and professional employees serve thousands of patients every month through our inpatient services, rehabilitation centres, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) centres, community care centres and home care services. Despite being a charitable organisation that is heavily dependent on public support and donations, Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital remains focused on providing quality care and services to our clients. Besides our care services, KWSH also runs a community training institute.

It was a great honour for us at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand for a special visit and guided tour.

During the time with us, Her Royal Highness was introduced to the history and mission of KWSH, as well as our work in eldercare, rehabilitation, and community health. Her Royal Highness also learned about the wide range of services offered through our Kwong Wai Shiu Care Centres across Singapore.

This meaningful visit was a proud milestone for all of us at KWSH, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our contributions to the nation’s healthcare landscape.

Generosity and community spirit filled the theatre on 16 August 2025, as the Yu Shuen x KWSH Gala Charity Movie Screening of OVERSTEER brought people together in support of the seniors at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital. We were honoured to have Director Derrick Lui and several cast members with us, reminding us how powerful film can be in sparking empathy and action. 🎥💙

With the support of every attendee, our movie screening turned into a heartwarming moment of generosity. Every ticket made a difference to the lives of our seniors. ❤️

𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲: 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲’𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 🎮🩺

Ronnie once dreamed of a future in IT, and even had a fear of blood and needles. Becoming a nurse was never part of the plan.

But nearly 8 years into his journey at KWSH, he’s become a pillar of strength and compassion, especially for our elderly residents living with dementia. 💙

From a shy student nurse to a trusted caregiver, Ronnie’s journey hasn’t been easy — but it’s been full of heart.

Just like in his favourite RPGs, where characters grow stronger with care and support, Ronnie helps his residents do the same in real life. Thank you, Ronnie, for showing us that with courage, patience, and heart, anyone can answer the call to care.

Our Charity Golf 2025 event brought together community champions in support of our mission to uplift lives through quality community care. We were honoured to welcome Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash, Mayor of South East District and Minister of State for MOM & MCCY, and Olympic gold medallist Mr Joseph Schooling, whose presence added meaning to the day.

From sunlit fairways to heartfelt conversations, every swing taken brought us closer to making a real difference in the lives of those we serve. 💪🏼👵🏻🧓🏻

Fruity Feast at KWSH! 🍇🥥🍉🍍

Our Staff Wellness Committee (SWC) at KWSH recently organised another vibrant and refreshing fruit celebration for our staff. Featuring a colourful spread of seasonal favourites, the event was a small but meaningful way to recognise the hard work and dedication of our team.

Events like these, part of our ongoing Fruit Day tradition, not only nourish the body but also foster connection and camaraderie among our team, reinforcing the spirit of wellness and community that KWSH values deeply.

On 15 July 2025, the Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital team had the honour of visiting the Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution (STCMI), a respected name in Traditional Chinese Medicine with over 150 years of heritage.

During the visit, our CEO, Dr Mok Ying Jang, and STCMI Chairman, Mr Yeo Eng Koon, reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing TCM research and education, with plans to explore meaningful collaborations in the near future.

We look forward to building on this rich legacy together in service of community health and well-being. 🌿

🦷 As we grow older, dental care becomes increasingly important — not just for our health, but for our quality of life. Yet, not every senior in Singapore has easy access to quality dental care.

Recognising this, KWSH and Tzu-Chi Foundation SG 慈济基金会have launched a meaningful initiative to provide free monthly dental services to our residents — including bedbound seniors, who will receive care in the comfort of their wards.

Each month, up to 30 residents will have the chance to receive regular dental check-ups through this initiative.

About Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital

Founded in 1910, Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH) is one of Singapore’s oldest charitable healthcare institutions. In the last century, the Hospital has continued the strong tradition of community service, having cared for many generations of Singaporeans. To cope with Singapore’s changing healthcare needs, KWSH also underwent major redevelopments and has evolved into a community healthcare hub today.

KWSH is one of the Agency for Integrated Care’s (AIC) appointed Learning Institutes (LIs) in developing, delivering and administering training courses for the Community Care sector. In collaboration with our partners, CTI provides courses covering clinical and non-clinical areas.
