In normal rhythm, your heart pumps blood efficiently through your body. But in arrhythmias like AFib, the heartโs upper chambers (atria) beat irregularly and ineffectively. This can cause blood to pool and form clots.
If a clot travels from the heart to the brain, it can block a blood vessel โ resulting in a stroke.

โข Arrhythmias aren't always obvious. Symptoms can include:
โข Irregular, fluttering heartbeat
โข Skipped beats or palpitations
โข Shortness of breath
โข Dizziness or lightheadedness
โขFatigue without clear cause
Even if symptoms are mild or occasional, hidden arrhythmias can still raise stroke risk.
