Building Connections with Play
Seniors from Orange Valley Active Ageing Centre @ Alkaff Crescent teamed up with students from St Andrew's School - Secondary, Singapore for an engaging pickleball session. First session of the 6-week intergenerational initiative with St. Andrew’s Secondary School.
Centred on active ageing, the session encouraged our seniors to stay mobile and confident through play, while creating a vibrant space for interaction with the students. As rallies went back and forth, so did conversations. Skills were shared, tips exchanged, and stories naturally unfolded across generations.
The court became more than just a place for physical activity, it was a space for mutual learning and connection. While students gained new perspectives and enjoyed the game, our seniors embraced the high energy of the youth, strengthening both physical well-being and social bonds.
It was a truly meaningful start to the program, and we look forward to the many opportunities ahead for movement, connection and shared experiences.
