Your friends need your support. Giving the right kind of support to someone suffering from mental illness is key.

Here is what you can do to help:
1. Be patient with them.
2. Help with chores and tasks if they are low and de-motivated.
3. Be a friend, not a doctor.
4. Do not try to diagnose their condition by reading up online.
5. Spend time with them, but allow space when they ask for it.
6. Tell them how much they mean to you.
7. Check up on them at least once a day.
8. Avoid triggering them or forcing them to talk when they do not want to.
