Getting to know Our Principal Consultant - Master Xing Yi
The Journey
It was by sheer coincidence that i met my Shifu, the late Grand Master Luo Ma Sheng, who in turn, was trained under the watchful eyes of the late Grand Master Ye Jia Zheng. Being born and bred in Singapore, I was the typical Chinese Singaporean, English-educated, can speak a smattering of Mandarin and various dialects, but can’t read Chinese. The term “Extremely Hard” cannot adequately describe how arduous it was in the first few years. It took me time and some serious hardwork before I actually get to the required level of mastery for my Chinese. A decade of tutelage under my Shifu started with Feng Shui, followed by, in sequence, Talisman drawing and incantations, Meditation, Poker Card Divination, King Wen’s Hexagram Divination, Ba Zi, Naming, Foot Massage and Chinese Bone-Setting. I don’t think anyone can ever finish learning knowledge that has been accumulated over thousands of years, thus I am constantly reading, revising and updating myself. My Philosophy
Contrary to popular beliefs, Chinese Metaphysics is totally different from what most people think it is. The esoteric field of Chinese Metaphysics, with it’s rich history, is brimming with wisdom and knowledge. Misconceptions, superstitions and sometimes, outright malpractices have been the bane of this field for the longest time, resulting in negative effects instead of the intended positive benefits that people should reap. I stand firm in my belief that Chinese Metaphysics should be presented, and practice in it’s original and
intended form, in line with the spirit of all the Chinese Sages who had developed this art over various dynasties. The second belief that i hold dear to my heart is the needs of people - the world 3000 years ago and the world today is a totally different place, due to advancement in Science, Technology, Medicine etc, thus, Chinese Metaphysics should be updated regularly to fit the lifestyle and needs of people, if not it risk being out dated and left behind. What do you get from me? I am neither flashy nor gimmicky. My entire Chinese Metaphysics practice is based on knowledge and ethics, thus I refused to portray Chinese Metaphysics as what it is being sold as today - quick fix-it solutions for life’s problems. Do expect sincere, constructive and extremely honest opinions in my consultations.
