NUS Health and Wellbeing

NUS Health and Wellbeing A safe space for our NUS community to find tips for cultivating resilience; and thriving in our wellbeing journey together.

Life can be challenging as we face the trials and experiences that come our way. For most of us, this brings forth a range of emotions and sometimes, stress. We are all about facilitating the mental, physical, and social wellbeing of our fellow staff and students. With our support system, alongside our people and resources, we believe we can help build the resilience of, as well as foster a sense of belonging for, our community. This is a supportive space where you can feel safe; with ample resources available you can tap upon when you feel ready to do so. Wherever you are in your journey to wellness, let’s navigate the way forward together!

It’s and guess who’s back with some new cluck-tastic friends this time? 🐔

Beyond the Fluff returns as a gentle reminder for us to slow down, reconnect, and learn a little more about ourselves with the help of our furry (and feathery) companions.

Through these sessions, we might notice…
🐶 dogs reminding us to stay present
🐱 cats showing us the importance of boundaries
🐹 guinea pigs teaching us to be gentle with ourselves
🐔 and our new friends… well, we'll just have to drop by to find out! 👀

This is our sign to take a paws, slow down, reflect and let these little companions guide us back to ourselves. 💭

Keep a lookout for our sign-ups as we’ve got something paw-sitively special coming your way. 🫶

Did you manage to guess all the lies? 👀

Sometimes, the “lie” isn’t in the words said out loud. It can show up in body language, in tone, or in the parts people find the hardest to say. That’s why listening matters. 👂🏻

When we take the time to really listen, we begin to notice what’s beneath the surface.

For some, feeling h(ear)d looks like having someone sit with them without rushing to respond, or simply hearing “I hear you” when they need it most. 💙

Through H(ear) to Listen: Listening Tables, our Peer Staff Supporters created a small, welcoming moment to pause, talk, and feel h(ear)d.

If you need a space to share or just someone to listen, our Peer Staff Supporters and .pss are here for you.

Sometimes, we carry more than we realise. 🫠

The thoughts we don’t say out loud, the feelings we quietly sit with… they can start to feel heavy over time.

To gently open up this conversation, we started with a little fun game where we asked NUS staff and students to share 2 truths and 1 lie about their hidden struggles!

Because the things we keep to ourselves are often more common than we think. 💭

And sometimes, what we really need isn’t advice or answers. Just someone to listen. 👂🏻

With the help of our Peer Staff Supporters, this year’s H(ear) to Listen: Listening Tables created a small, welcoming moment to pause, talk, and feel h(ear)d.

Because being listened to, even for a little while, can make things feel a little lighter. 💙

If you’re going through a tough time or just need a space to talk things through, you can always reach out to our Peer Staff Supporters or NUS Peer Student Supporters.

Support might be closer than you think.

Running on low battery lately? 🔋

Between classes, deadlines and everything in between, it’s easy to keep going without checking in with ourselves or taking the rest we need.

Rest doesn’t have to be big. It can look like taking a short break, stepping outside, or simply giving yourself a moment to breathe.

This NUS Wellbeing Day, take a moment to slow down.

Because we’re worth more than the pace we go at. 🫶

🐾 If you enjoyed last year’s animal-inspired self-reflections, Beyond the Fluff is back in session!

Someone new is joining our furry (and feathery 🪶👀) crew this year. This mystery guest has an im-peck-able reputation and we're in for an egg-cellent time... and no, the sky won't be falling. ☁️

So just wing it and drop your guesses below!

Keep an eye out for our mailers for session details and grab a few friends to join in. Get ready for some paw-sitive (and maybe cluck-tastic) moments ahead. 🫶

Feels like you're always playing catch up? We feel you 🥹.

When we notice ourselves starting to feel heavy, it might help to pause and take a breather 💆🏻‍♀️. Taking a break doesn't mean we're not being productive. We can treat ourselves kindly by allowing time to rest and rejuvenate.

So, here's to slowing down, taking one step at a time, and allowing ourselves the space to make conscious choice to work at a sustainable pace.

Remember, comparison is the thief of joy. So, forge your own path, at your own pace.

🌼 Before the year picks up pace, let's remind ourselves that…

Goals, plans and expectations will come. The calendar will fill up. The days will get busier, But before everything picks up pace, remember that we can also move forward with self-compassion 🌱

Progress isn't always linear. There will be moments to celebrate and moments to take a breather but they are all part of our journey, not detours from it.

Here’s to moving with intention, caring for ourselves along the way, and supporting one another as a community. 🫶

As we look back on some of the meaningful conversations from (kind)mind 2025, here’s a glimpse into the moments we shared. 💙

Conversations about rest, self-care, and what it means to show up for ourselves and for one another, even on days when it felt hard to do so.

Each conversation reminded us that we are never alone in what we feel, and that opening up, even in small ways, can make the weight a little lighter to carry.

As we step into (kind)mind 2026, we are building on these shared moments by creating even more spaces for conversations, connections, and growing awareness around mental health. 🌱

Keep a lookout for our upcoming events and workshops, where these conversations will continue to unfold and bring us closer as a community.

We cannot wait to have you with us as we keep normalising mental health and nurturing a culture of care, one conversation at a time. 🫶

✨New year, new chapter with (kind)mind. 🦁💙

This year, (kind)mind 2026 gently reminds us that we are worth more than our pace. More than how busy we look, how much we do, or how hard we push ourselves.

Together, we are normalising pauses, self-care and reaching out early. Not only when things fall apart, but when we simply need a little support. Whether that looks like taking a breather, checking in with ourselves, or being there with a listening ear for someone else, it all matters.

We’re back with new content, new experiences, and familiar faces along the way. Moments to help us feel seen, supported, and reminded that we do not have to do everything alone.

Here’s to tending to ourselves and each other, one small moment at a time. 🌱

See YOU along the way. 🫶

As we wrap up the year, here’s a gentle reminder that our wellbeing is built from the small choices we make each day 🌿

From pausing to check in with ourselves, reaching out when things feel heavy, celebrating our tiny wins and everything in between… every mindful step has helped us move forward, grow gently and show up for one another 💛

Before we head into 2026, let’s take a look back at the moments that shaped us this year and dive into our very own wellbeing playlist https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6ducMfu93r5j3WYuUwIWjU?si=ngObQKAmR7GbXsMBw4nEAg&pi=kAtVtuctSRqEY. These are the songs we recommend as you wind down the year and set the tone for the next. (Trust us, we’ve got them on repeat! 🎧)

Here’s to tuning inwards, making time for ourselves and nurturing the communities that hold us together.🌼💙
