You’ve spent years learning how to optimise outcomes.

You prepare. You plan. You stay in control. And it works.

So it makes sense that you would approach birth the same way.

But birth doesn’t respond to control in the same way your career does. It asks for adaptability. And that shift is where even the most capable women can feel unsettled.

This is what Article 2 of the *Identity, Pregnancy and After* series is about.

Not doing less, but preparing differently. Not letting go of your standards, but understanding how they need to evolve in this context.

Because when you understand this early, everything about how you approach birth changes.

The women who look the most “prepared” for motherhood are often the least prepared for what it actually asks of them.

Not practically.

Personally.

I’m writing a series for women who are used to doing life well, and want to approach motherhood with the same level of intention, without losing themselves in the process.

This isn’t content I’m sharing here.

It’s on LinkedIn

Follow me there (🔗 in bio) and subscribe to the series if you want to read it in full.

I often get bookings immediately AFTER a confinement nanny has finished her contract with a family, and do you know the NUMBER 1 reason why?

It is also the number one thing I am asked on EVERY exploratory call.

“Can you show me how to bathe my baby?”

And the answer is, of course, yes.

Yes, I can show you how to hold them securely in the water without feeling like they might slip. I can show you how to support their head and body properly, how to check the temperature, how to move with confidence instead of tension, and how to make bath time feel calm rather than stressful.

But underneath that question is usually something deeper. It is not really about the bath. It is about wanting reassurance that you are doing this right, especially once the confinement nanny has left and the house suddenly feels quieter than expected.

Bathing your baby is not a test of whether you are a good mother or father. It is simply a skill that requires a little confidence at first, and like any skill, it becomes easier with guidance and practice.

My role is to stand beside you while you build that confidence, so that when I leave, you feel steady, capable and calm.

If you are pregnant and already thinking about those first few weeks, or if your support has just shifted, send me a message.

Of course, yes. I can show you how to bathe your baby.

Syringe feeding can feel surprisingly stressful when you’re in it.

Especially if feeding has already been a bit wobbly, or you’re just trying to get through this feed calmly.

These three tips often make syringe feeding smoother, more coordinated, and less messy for both you and your baby.

They are small tweaks, but they can be real game changers when you know what to look for.

A gentle reminder that feeding skills are learned, for babies and for parents. There is no failing here. Just practice, support, and patience.

If syringe feeding feels hard, overwhelming, or like it is dragging on longer than it should, that is your cue to get some extra eyes on the feed.

And if you want calm, practical, one to one support in your own home or via a virtual consultation, we are here to help.

This post is for general education only and is not medical advice. Every baby and feeding situation is different. Always check in with your paediatrician, lactation consultant, or healthcare professional if you have concerns about feeding, weight gain, or your baby’s wellbeing.

A nanny does things for you so that you don’t have to.
I do things with you so that you can learn, heal, and feel confident.

A nanny feeds your baby so that you don’t have to.
I feed your baby to role model how you can — watching, guiding, and helping you find your own way.

A nanny gives bottles or settles feeds so that you don’t have to.
I support you with breastfeeding and/or bottle feeding so that you understand your options, feel comfortable, and trust your body and your instincts.

A nanny settles your baby to sleep so that you don’t have to.
I show you how to read your baby’s cues, understand their rhythm, and trust your instincts.

A nanny baths your baby so that you don’t have to.
I bath your baby to demonstrate safe, gentle care — so that next time, you’ll feel calm and capable doing it yourself.

I’m not there to take over.
I’m there to empower you to feel like the mother you already are. 💛

Ever wondered if your baby’s formula is really working for them? 🍼
It’s not always about switching brands right away. Sometimes it’s about:
✔️ Understanding the signs and symptoms your little one is showing
✔️ Knowing protein, carbs + fat blends can make a difference
✔️ And yes - even feeding position can change everything 💛

You can cut through the overwhelm and feel confident in the choices you make for your baby

🚨 3 things that really get my goat 🐐 … because they gaslight mums!

Too often, mums are made to feel like they’re the problem when in fact, it’s the language, systems, and support around them that are letting them down.

Have we beaten jet lag???

Probably not – but we’re close!

Landed back in Singapore Friday evening (7-hour time difference from the UK) and by Monday morning my daughter and I both woke at 7am 🙌

My 3 go-to rules every single trip: 👇

1️⃣ Eat on the new time zone – breakfast, lunch, dinner – no exceptions! Even a small snack kick-starts digestion and helps reset your body clock.

2️⃣ Daylight + movement – get outside during the day to help re-programme your circadian rhythm.

3️⃣ Boost melatonin – through foods like eggs, fish, nuts, milk, and sometimes gummies* (small doses help us resettle at night).

Results so far:
👧 Friday 10-8 | Sat 8-2 & 3-7 | Sun 10-7
🙋‍♀️ Friday 11-8 | Sat 11-2 & 5-8 | Sun 11-7

Since becoming an expat in 2011, this has been my jet lag cure - I’m convinced the secret is in your digestive system.

*Melatonin is prescription-only in the UK - always consult your doctor before supplements.
💡 Babies – when my daughter was exclusively breastfeeding, I boosted my own melatonin-rich foods.
💡 Toddlers – I added eggs and fish to her diet.
💡 Children – this is the first year she’s tried melatonin gummies, and they’ve worked well in small doses.

When I walk into a home during those raw early weeks, I’m not inspecting anything.

But I do gently notice the things that often get missed - because you’re too busy keeping a tiny human alive.

💧 Are you actually drinking water and eating something nourishing?
🧽 Are the bottles, pump parts or dishes starting to pile up?
🛏 Is your bed still a soft landing spot for when you finally get to rest?

These little acts of care are never your job alone - and they make a massive difference to your recovery.

If you’re pregnant or newly postpartum, I’d love to help you feel less alone and more supported in the tiny, meaningful ways.

New mums often tell me they were nervous for me to come over - worried about the mess, their hair, or what their baby had just done in their nappy.

But let me be super clear...

💥 I’m not here to inspect your house
💥 I’m not here to sniff your baby
💥 and I definitely don’t care what your hair is doing today

I’m here for you. To hold space, support your recovery, and make this huge transition feel a little lighter and a lot more supported.

If you’re pregnant or freshly postpartum and wondering what kind of help is actually useful - I’d love to chat.
