Do you feel tired, bloated, stressed, or unwell, but medical check-ups say everything is normal?

You may not be sick, but you’re not truly well either.
This is known as suboptimal health, the stage where the body is already out of balance, even before illness appears.

Many of us ignore these early signs because they feel “normal” in a busy lifestyle.
But in TCM, these are signals your body is asking for attention.

Awareness is the first step.
Taking care early can make a real difference.

In a recent Lianhe Zaobao article, Dr. Bernard and Physician Sue shared insights on the role of integrative Chinese and Western medicine in modern healthcare.

Dr. Bernard stresses that integrative care must be guided by clinical evidence and patient safety, with Western medical diagnosis forming the foundation before complementary therapies are introduced.

Physician Sue explains that TCM plays a key role in identifying and managing sub-optimal health, focusing on body constitution, prevention, and long-term balance.

By combining both disciplines, patients benefit from a more complete and well-coordinated approach to healthcare.

Great news! Physician Sue was recently featured in the news!

She shared an important reminder:
Stiff fingers are NOT just “a small problem” or simply “old age”.

Many people ignore finger pain, swelling, or when the fingers “lock” while bending. But this may actually be tendon inflammation (like trigger finger). If left untreated, it can slowly get worse and affect daily movement.

The good news:
With early treatment, rest and proper care, most people can regain flexibility and reduce pain.

✔ Don’t overuse your hands
✔ Watch for persistent pain or stiffness
✔ Seek help early if symptoms don’t improve

Taking care early helps protect your hands for the long run, take care!

Recently, Physician Sue had the opportunity to share about TCM at BelleWave Cosmetics.

During the session, she shared simple acupoint tips and TCM health advices, and invited participants to reflect on where they regularly feel discomfort or pain.

From the responses, we discovered that many of us may actually be experiencing suboptimal health — not sick, but also not feeling truly well.

Awareness is the first step. With the right guidance and lifestyle adjustments, our bodies can gradually return to better balance.
