Happy 60th Birthday Singapore!🎉

Residents of Ling Kwang Home celebrated Singapore’s special milestone with volunteers from Standard Chartered Bank! These kind souls came bearing goodie bags and delicious meals to honour our seniors who played an important part in nation-building.

The atmosphere was filled with joy, gratitude, and nostalgia as the volunteers listened to our seniors’ stories and experiences that shaped our nation. It's heartwarming to see how the young and old unite and share love and kindness with one another.

Let's give thanks for Singapore and take a moment to celebrate our seniors as we enjoy the fruits of their labour. Wishing everyone a joyful National Day!

In the face of dementia, memories can fade, but their significance remains.

As part of Ling Kwang Home's New Care model, our 'Creating Legacy' approach helps seniors and families capture, preserve, and celebrate life's precious moments in meaningful ways, such as creating Life Story Books.

Through this initiative, seniors and families come together to craft meaningful keepsakes, sharing stories, wisdom, and leaving a lasting legacy.

Ling Kwang Home celebrates Residents Day !🤩

Students from Raffles Girls Secondary School visited Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens to celebrate Residents' Day, bringing joy and warmth to the elderly residents.

They carefully planned fun and engaging games, served lunch with love, and showered the seniors with genuine care and attention.
The smiles on the seniors' faces said it all - moments like these remind us that kindness can bridge any age gap.

A huge thank you to these young volunteers for giving back to the community and spreading love! 💑

Raising the standard of care at Ling Kwang Home! ✨

Ling Kwang Home's Quality Improvement (QI) roadshow was a huge success!

LKH colleagues celebrated our QI achievements, promoted clinical awareness, and had engaging booths run by our Infection Control, Wound, End-of-life, Medication, Restraint, and Fall Prevention Committees.👨‍⚕️

The roadshow was an amazing opportunity for staff to learn, engage, and have fun while promoting clinical excellence. We're proud of our team's dedication to delivering the best care possible!

Our seniors had an amazing time getting their hands dirty and connecting with nature at the NParks Therapeutic Garden in Pasir Ris.

This Therapeutic Horticulture programme was designed to bring numerous benefits, including:

· Improve motor skills through low-intensity exercise

· Memory stimulation to keep minds sharp

· Mood enhancement through social connections and nature appreciation

Ling Kwang Home was abuzz when kindergarten kids from My First Skool paid a visit, bringing with them a spark✨ of youthful energy that illuminated the faces of our Day Care clients.

The children's infectious laughter and chatter filled the air as they performed two songs🎵🕺 and played games with the seniors. This simple act of human connection bridged the gap between young and old, reminding us that despite our differences, we are all connected.

A big thank you to the children and teachers for bringing a smile to everyone’s faces. 💝

Every day at Ling Kwang Home, you will find 84-year-old caregiver Ms. Patricia, walking slowly through the gates to visit her older sister, Ms. Ah Mai. Patricia is concerned that her sister, aged 86, adjusts well to living in a nursing home environment. She also wants her sister to feel her love and care by the daily visits. Come rain or shine, Patricia makes it a point to be here and to bring her sister’s favourite food. The close bond that the sisters share has been the result of caring for each other and their late father over the years.

Patricia is one of the many family members that visit our residents regularly. As an organisation that provides long-term care, we are honoured to journey with family caregivers and provide care to their loved ones living at our Home.

Seeing Patricia and Ah Mai together, we can’t help but celebrate the enduring spirit of caregiving and the strength of family bonds. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where loving kindness and compassion thrive.💖

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

We're thrilled to share that Phase 1 of our renovations is complete! The newly refurbished rooms look amazing and are designed with our residents' comfort and well-being in mind. Those who were affected have moved back to their new old rooms and are loving every minute of it. 😊😍

Phase 2 renovations are now well underway! This phase includes continuous refurbishment of rooms in the Main Block ward, as well as renovations of the Home’s reception area, corporate office spaces, and the relocation of the Peace Room and meeting room. 😇🤝🏻

The entire renovation project is expected to wrap up sometime in 2026. With steady progress, we're incredibly grateful to everyone involved—from planning and designing to building and funding! 👷‍♂️🛠️🏗️💰

🎄✨ Christmas Magic is in the Air! ✨🎄

This Christmas season, Ling Kwang Home is brimming with festive cheer and heartwarming moments!

From making Christmas decorations and clay models to singing carols with volunteers and staff, our Seniors have been are embracing the season with joy and laughter. 🎅🎶 Christmas is also a time of giving, and thanks to the generosity of our donors, we will also be treated to a special meal delivery 🍗🍰

We are so grateful for the love and support from our community, making this Christmas truly blessed for our Seniors. 🎉❤️
