๐ช๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ are small, contagious skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The virus enters through tiny cuts or abrasions in the skin, leading to excess cell growth.
They can appear on many areas of the body, such as the face, forearms, and fingers. On the palms or soles, warts often look flat. Plantar warts (on the soles) may grow inward from the pressure of standing and walking, and can be painful.
In some cases, warts may resolve on their own, particularly in young children. However, spontaneous healing is less common in older children and adults, and treatment is usually recommended.
One of the most effective and widely used methods is cryotherapy, where liquid nitrogen is applied to freeze off the wart.
