To be resilient, or able to bounce back from adversities, one needs to overcome the challenges. But how?

Coping literature talks about 3 broad types of strategies (Carr, 2004):
- problem focused, i.e. go to the root of the problem and tackle it
- emotion focused, e.g. talk or unpack emotions in order to cope
- avoidance coping which is to pretend that the situation had never happened
Sometimes, one may go through all strategies depending on the type of situation.
