The session began with Sri Guru Puja, where everyone offered heartfelt gratitude to His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam. This sacred ritual deepened their oneness with Paramashiva, the eternal source of life, creating a joyful and connected atmosphere from the outset.
The Nithyananda Yoga practice followed, starting with the chanting of the Shiva Mula Mantra, the purifying ritual of tattvacharamaniyam, and a focused Sankalpa. Through vivid visualisation, the children activated the manifesting power of thought to bring their pure intentions into reality. They then flowed through a beautiful sequence of Prathama Vinyasa Krama asanas: Sukhasana, Parvatasana, Halipavasana, Nagipava Asana, Kokilasana, Neti Asana, Gajasana, Rksasana, Vaisyāsana, Balalingasana, Pada pidasana, Nataraja asana, Tadasana, Uttanasana, Taraksvasana, Bhujangasana, and Sasasana. The gentle, mindful movements left the small group feeling open, grounded, and radiant with subtle energy.
The Powerful Cognition segment begins a new theme — Bhagavad Gita. Today, we'll start with verses one through three of Chapter One. The Bhagavad Gita is about a warrior named Arjuna. One day, he was about to fight a great battle. Standing on his chariot, he saw that all the enemies opposite him were people he knew! Arjuna was filled with anxiety and fear! His hands began to tremble, and his bow and arrows slipped from his grasp. At that moment, a miracle occurred! The driver of his chariot was actually the divine Krishna! Then, Krishna began to speak with Arjuna, teaching him how to be brave, how to do the right thing, and how to become a true hero! This dialogue is the Bhagavad Gita!
Children need to understand that "each of us is also Arjuna," and that life is our battlefield. Understanding this scripture will help us understand how to face various situations in life. Before delving into the content, the children made a resolution (SANKALPA), allowing the Bhagavad Gita to become their dialogue with the divine.
Chapter 1, Sections 1-3, mentions "Let the battle take place in the Kuruksetra!" In Sanskrit, the Kuruksetra means "the space of creation." Let the battle take place in this space of creation. This helps us understand that we can create our own chessboard, shifting from a passive to an active position. The children wrote down their fears and transformed them into "spaces of creation."
In the Power Manifestation segment, the children manifested the power of body scanning, scanning their companions' families. Although they had never met each other's families, they could scan and describe, experience oneness with one another.
The session concluded with collective chanting of the Om Purna Mantra, enveloping everyone in gratitude, completion, and wholeness.
