The inaugural Community Film and Theatre Festival (CFTF) was held on 24th and 25th November 2018.

The festival in 2019 continues to offer a platform for showcasing the talents and creative works of young, youths and professionals in Film and Theatre.

This year, the festival is getting more exciting!

We are also including music and dance genres in the Theatre Category. There will be a bigger flea market (Bazaar) and fringe market too.

CFTF aspires to bring our multi-racial communities closer through the appreciation and the engagement of the Arts.

It remains as a non-ticketed and non-competitive festival.

โ€œMental Connectโ€ is a platform to create a common space for a conversation linking corporates, community, practitioners, governmental organizations, focusing on good practices and resources available which promote mental health and mental wellbeing. It takes the form of (1) online service directory; (2) calendar of (mental health) events; (3) recorded seminar; (4) written articles; (5) other useful links etc. What I hope to achieve is to promote information exchange between parties, and move the mental health ecosystem in Singapore (and across borders) forward.

โ€œMental Connectโ€ is a non-profit organization, in which it will be launched on 31st October, at Jamieโ€™s Italian (Vivocity), 7pm. Its launch is organized jointly by Marketplace Champion Business Club, a networking platform for trainers, coaches, and entrepreneurs. During the event, I would be sharing about โ€œMental Connectโ€ and it can help the stakeholders pro-brono, followed by a sharing by Dr Joseph Leong. The topic โ€œHow to Survive Burnout and Stay Successfulโ€, to be shared by Dr Joseph Leong, is specially chosen to address Burnout and Founderโ€™s Depression for the participants.

โ€œI would like to sincerely invite you to grace our event and be present to hear as I share about โ€œMental Connectโ€. Your presence will help encourage support for this initiative as we seek to build a collaborative mental health ecosystem. SG100 Foundation, as a ground up nation building organization, is also the supporting organization for the event.โ€ - Alex Yeo

PM me to join our event! ๐Ÿ™‚

Youth Carnival

SG100 Foundation is organising a carnival on the 1st day of 2016, its significance being the very first day towards SG100, after celebrating the end of SG50. As we conclude SG50 this year, the focus then turns towards how we can carry on this momentum to reach even greater heights in the next 50 years. As a small independent nation, Singapore has had the immense fortune of having great leaders who brought us through humble beginnings to the bustling metropolitan city we are today. This success, though phenomenal, is not guaranteed to stay with us if we do not stay humble, yet hungry to build up a brighter future with the efforts of our younger generations, who will be the main pillars and decision makers when SG100 comes.

With the focus on our Youths, this carnival is organised entirely by student leaders across various institutes in Singapore. Hop on to our time machine this coming 1st of January as we:

1) Bring you back to the โ€™80s with the traditional games display played in Singapore.

2) Showcase our current aspiring youthsโ€™ ideas and work across different education institutes in Singapore with games, booths, exhibitions, and performances.

3) Look ahead to the future with futuristic Virtual Reality(VR) lens exhibition and Laser Tag games.

Be nostalgic as we bring you back in time.

Be contented as we present to you our achievement.

Be excited as we show you the future.

Come on down to join us for a fun and enjoyable day as we mark the start of our on-going efforts towards SG100.

Passionate individuals coming together to share ideas and coming with a solution to build up this great nation into a Smarter Nation towards SG100. A community sharing their passion for the nation.

Do you know that the first fully-elected government of Singapore which is the People's Action Party (PAP) was formed a day before 6th June in the year 1959 ?

The Peopleโ€™s Action Party (PAP) formed the first fully-elected government of Singapore following the partyโ€™s victory in the general election of 1959.[1] This marked an important milestone in Singapore's achievement of internal self-rule. The nine-member cabinet comprised Lee Kuan Yew (Prime Minister), Toh Chin Chye (Deputy Prime Minister), Ong Eng Guan (Minister for National Development), Goh Keng Swee (Minister for Finance), Ong Pang Boon (Minister for Home Affairs), K. M. Byrne (Minister for Labour and Law), Ahmad Ibrahim (Minister for Health), Yong Nyuk Lin (Minister for Education) and Sinnathamby Rajaratnam (Minister for Culture).[2] Prime Minister Lee and his cabinet were sworn in at a closed-door ceremony held at City Hall on 5 June 1959 by William Goode, the last governor of Singapore and the first Yang di-Pertuan Negara (Head of State).[3]

Tan Kia Gan was appointed Minister for National Development on 25 August 1960. He replaced Ong Eng Guan, who had been suspended from his duties and subsequently expelled from the PAP for misconduct in July 1960.[4] The cabinet underwent its first reshuffle in September 1961 when K. M. Byrne took over the health portfolio from Ahmad Ibrahim while retaining the law portfolio. The latter then assumed the labour portfolio and became the new Minister for Labour.[5]

GEN 4 AND BEYOND

Dear Singaporeans & Friends, What does GEN 4 and Beyond mean? It is about the ideals we want for the nation, and how we as youths align ourselves toward it.

The spike in high school su***des in 2018 truly found a workable pace, given the numerous youngsters who have been despondently - including friends and family. The pattern doesn't appear to subside. More young people from top schools are looking for help at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for school-related worry, as per a Straits Times' report a year ago.

We may feel that mental health is often forsaken. However for each case, there would be a few more negative endeavours. For each endeavour, there will be a few more who thought about ('su***de ideation'). These are not insignificant measurements, they are human lives - some exceptionally youthful ones as well. So this can't be another person' issue.

"Be there for somebody who needs somebody. How about we learn not to decide how somebody is managing an agony that we've never encountered, their enduring is total to them and should never be refuted. We as a whole need to cooperate to construct a general public that cares, on the grounds that each life matters.
