Thanks to AIC for featuring the good work of our Ambulance drivers.

"I joined Lentor Ambulance as an Ambulance Driver after leaving the public service in 2010. I was a firefighter and was trained in HAZMAT response during my 31 years in the SCDF.
After leaving the force, I felt the need to continue service to the public, therefore, transitioning to an Ambulance Driver was not a difficult choice for me. I love being an Ambulance Driver in the Community Care sector as I am able to provide service to people in need.
In a normal workday, I ensure the safety of my colleagues and passengers by doing vehicle checks, practise safe patient transfers and make sure equipment is properly stowed and passengers are well fastened in their seats or wheelchairs. I make sure patients arrive at their destination on time and keep to the daily schedule. I also always greet patients with a smile!
Being in this industry has provided me with many training opportunities. Alongside my experience in emergency response, the training I received in Lentor Ambulance has given me confidence in handling any situation. Above all, I have learnt that every patient should be treated as you would your own family, so as to uphold the good standard of care for all."
