Health Series – Keto Diet

Have you heard of the Keto Diet?

Keto is short for ‘ketogenic’ which basically is a term for a low carbohydrate diet. The idea is that you regulate your diet to obtain more calories from protein and fat, and cut back on carbs that are more easily digested.

Proponents of the Keto Diet believe the benefits (among others) include:
• Supports weight loss
• Improves acne
• May reduce risk of certain cancers
• May improve heart health
• May protect brain function

This all works by depleting the body of its sugar reserves leading to break down fat for energy. Of course, like everything else, there are also risks and possible complications. Anyone who wishes to try this diet should do more independent research, and consult a doctor, or health professional, before trying.

Finally, lowering stress is still one of the best ways to stay healthy. What better way than to treat yourself to a regular indulgence of a soothing and therapeutic massage at Pine.

Dedicated to wellness, Pine Spa is always looking at ways to do more. The Covid-19 virus has had unprecedented impact on the world, but we will not let it keep us down. Here at Pine Spa, we relentlessly clean and sanitizer our spa surroundings, and ensure all our staff are vaccinated. However, when it comes to protecting our staff and valued customers, we are always trying to do more.

Since April 2021, each of our staff on a daily basis use a povidone-iodine throat spray which researchers have found to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection. We keep safe so that our customers are also safe.
