Other than my iPad, iPhone and MacBook Air which are my precious… my other most loved work item is my notebook!

This is the Taobao version of the Traveler’s Notebook. I once have the original leather version of the traveler’s notebook, gift from a dear friend… but it has worn out over the years…

Wanted to get a replacement but it was too expensive so I got the plastic version from Taobao. lol.

Still getting used to it… but yeah… I love notebooks and schedulers and organisers

At 29, psoriasis appeared on her whole body including hairline. Sometimes, the skin felt itchy.

Her skin issue got to do with fungi issue. 3 months into detox program, her skin flared up big time. With perseverance, she finally recovered from this 27 years of ordeal.

What is psoriasis?
Psoriasis is genetic and a chronic autoimmune skin disease. Historically, psoriasis was thought to be a proliferative disease (skin growing too fast). But now, medical science knows that it is inflammation that is driving underneath the skin to grow faster and to create those psoriasis plaques. Psoriasis is very much an inflammatory disease. Drugs that help stop inflammation for psoriasis are immunosuppressants: TNF alpha inhibitor, cyclosporine etc. The problem is, when these drugs suppress the immune system, one might have higher risk of infection now that the immune system is suppressed.

Possible side effects of cyclosporine is kidney damage or high blood pressure. (Source - https://www.aad.org/public/diseases/psoriasis/treatment/medications/cyclosporine ). Cyclosporine also increases risk of developing a type of skin cancer known as squamous cell carcinoma. This risk is higher if you’ve had more than 200 PUVA light therapy treatments.

Hormonal changes can cause excessive fatigue. Estradiol, progesterone, thyroid, adrenal, insulin and many more hormones can influence your energy level.

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of diabetes. Hypothyroidism, where low levels of thyroid hormone is produced, can cause fatigue. You can feel tired because of adrenal inefficiency too.

A good menstrual period should last five to seven days. A woman's period usually occurs every 28 days.

Menstrual problems/irregular me**es include:
🩸 Periods that occur less than 21 days or more than 35 days apart
🩸 Missing three or more periods in a row
🩸 Menstrual flow that is much heavier or lighter than usual
🩸 Periods that last shorter than 3 days or longer than seven days
🩸 PMS. Me**es accompanied by pain, cramping, nausea or vomiting
🩸 Bleeding or spotting that happens between periods, after menopause or following s*x

Causes of irregular me**es:
⚠️ Stress and lifestyle. Significant weight gain or loss, dieting, changes in exercise routines, illness, or other disruptions in a woman's daily routine can have an impact on her menstrual cycle.
⚠️ Uterine polyps are small benign (noncancerous) growths in the lining of the uterus. Uterine fibroids are tumors that attach to the wall of the uterus. There may be one or several fibroids that range from as small as an apple seed to the size of a grapefruit. These tumors are usually benign, but they may cause heavy bleeding and pain during periods.
⚠️ Endometriosis occurs when the endometrial tissue starts to grow outside the uterus. Often, the endometrial tissue attaches itself to the ovaries or fallopian tubes; it sometimes grows on the intestines or other organs in the lower digestive tract and in the area between your re**um and uterus. Endometriosis may cause abnormal bleeding, cramps or pain before and during periods, and painful in*******se.
⚠️ In polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS), the ovaries make large amounts of androgens, which are male hormones. Small fluid-filled sacs (cysts) may form in the ovaries. The hormonal changes can prevent eggs from maturing, and so ovulation may not take place consistently. Sometimes a woman with polycystic o***y syndrome will have irregular periods or stop menstruating completely. In addition, the condition is associated with obesity, infertility and hirsutism (excessive hair growth and acne). This condition may be caused by a hormonal imbalance.

‼️ Hypothyroidism - low levels of thyroid hormone, which causes your metabolism to slow down. This can cause weight gain.

‼️ Menopause - many ladies gain weight during menopause due to hormonal changes that cause their metabolism to slow down. However, this type of “hormonal imbalance” is natural and an expected part of life. Such weight gain is still manageable with a balanced healthy diet.

‼️ Cushing’s syndrome - This is a rare condition that happens when your body has too much of a hormone called cortisol. It results in rapid weight gain in your face, belly, back of your neck (“buffalo hump”) and chest.

‼️ Hyperthyroidism - high levels of thyroid hormone, which causes your metabolism to increase. This can cause weight loss. Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder, is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism, making up about 85% of cases. In this disorder, your immune system attacks your thyroid. This makes your thyroid create too much thyroid hormone. Graves’ disease is a hereditary condition.

Most common causes are perimenopause or menopause. However, some female do experience hot flashes way before menopause. Imbalances of the s*x hormones estrogen and progesterone or excess testosterone and androgens could be the reason.

Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the most important ways to prevent hormonal imbalances and hot flashes.

🍽️ Eat a balanced, healthy diet.
💤 Get enough quality sleep.
