Red Cross work in Singapore began in 30 September 1949 as part of the British Red Cross Society. The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) was incorporated by an Act of Parliament on 6 April 1973. 👋 Meet Ignatius! He joined us from April to September 2025, and he extended his internship till December 2025!

As part of the Community Engagement (Local Services) HoME+ team, Ignatius was hands-on from the start. He worked on tools to improve daily processes, spent time on the ground with beneficiaries, and got to experience a wide range of work.
Along the way, he built up his tech skills, learned how to communicate complex ideas clearly, and gained a better understanding of what people-centred work looks like in practice.

🎉 We’re excited to share that Ignatius will be returning as a full-time staff member, where he’ll continue learning and contributing to the team.

A very special thank you to .upopp for giving our Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts children the chance to experience the magic of Christmas at Sesame Street – The Musical at and fulfilling the children's Christmas Wishes through UOL Gives Back – Make A Wish Come True initiative.✨

From the thoughtful preparation for our Young Hearts children’s Christmas gifts and goodie bags to the fun-filled festive performance that brought joy, laughter and a delightful bubble shower finale in the atrium, it was an unforgettable experience for the children.

After weeks of practicing and perfecting their performances, our Red Cross Juniors brought an explosion of energy and joy at their very first concert last week!

Since November, we have received a great deal of support from our volunteers, ambassadors, including at , as well as those who attended and generously donated to support the event.

Our juniors gave it their all, as each school presented their own interpretation on the concert theme, “Friends in Harmony, “ as “little hands for humanity”! Not only did they put up a great performance, their vibrant dancing and singing also showcased their teamwork and unity - values that children should be nurtured with as “hands for humanity”!

Thank you to everyone who has made this event possible, allowing our Red Cross Juniors to end their year on a festive and jolly note. Special mentions to Shaw Foundation Alumni House and Pacifica Music Academy (.sg) for sponsoring the venue and advocating for the concert and children.

Good Food, Better Company!🍗🎄

Nothing beats the magic of a holiday feast! Today, we celebrated Christmas early with a beautiful buffet lunch for our beloved seniors at .

From the festive decorations to Christmas themed treats, our seniors were buzzing with joy, as they relished in the savoury dishes while enjoying the good company of the Carlton staff and SRC Volunteers. The buffet spread featured a delicious variety of local food and yummy Christmas desserts. 🍰

A huge shoutout to Cafe Mosaic at for making this happen with their world-class hospitality.

It’s partnerships like these that remind us what the holiday season is all about: giving back to the community and spending time with your loved ones. 🎁

When aligned with humanitarian aid, corporate capital significantly enhances financial resilience against disasters, climate change, and health crises.

This was a key insight in the IFRC x AON Roundtable Discussion which was opened by Secretary-General Mr. Benjamin William, who highlighted the success of recent relief programs shaped by the Singapore Red Cross' (SRC) long-standing partners, AON and AVPN.

Led by leaders Mr. Hervé Gazeau and Ms. Kathryn Clarkson, also featured innovative insights:
💬 (Mr. Soeren Soltysiak & Ms. Emma Karhan): Leveraging financial mechanisms like the Disaster Response Emergency Fund.
💬 (Ms. Patsian Low): Channelling corporate capital for greater social impact.

🤝Partnerships are vital for strengthening community resilience, crucial for the IFRC and SRC. AON provides data analytics for risk management, and AVPN bridges capital to social good.
👥This collective effort ensures faster and more efficient aid delivery. Partnerships are the future of humanitarian response, driven by our steady partners for humanity.

Sri Lanka continues to face a humanitarian crisis weeks after Cyclone Ditwah, followed by prolonged monsoon rains and flooding. Many families remain displaced and are still struggling to meet their most basic needs. In response, the Singapore Red Cross is deploying a team of four trained responders to Sri Lanka to support relief efforts led by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society.

As communities begin the long road to recovery, SRC remains committed to standing in solidarity with those affected.
