Singapore Red Cross extends our sincere thanks to Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF) for their generous contribution in support of our humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

The cheque handover ceremony was attended by Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs, Assoc Prof Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting communities affected by ongoing humanitarian needs.

We deeply appreciate RLAFโ€™s continuous support in enabling timely assistance to those in need.

In late November 2025, Cyclone Ditwah brought heavy rainfall and flooding across Sri Lanka, affecting communities across the island. The situation was further worsened by the northeast monsoon season, which continued into the following weeks.

On the ground, volunteers from the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) mobilised quickly to support affected families through relief distributions, medical camps and community clean-up efforts.
With the support of donors, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has raised SGD505,868 since launching its public appeal, with SGD156,400 committed towards relief and recovery efforts supporting approximately 57,000 people. SRC remains committed to standing with affected communities through long-term rebuilding and recovery.

To support ongoing recovery efforts, SRC has extended its public appeal. Funds raised will continue to support relief and recovery efforts in close coordination with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Meet Deeptee! She joined the Singapore Red Cross Academy as an intern, where she supported training operations and helped coordinate events. She was also involved in assisting with the delivery of training courses.

๐Ÿ’กOne of the highlights of her internship was travelling to Cianjur, Indonesia, where she taught First Aid and CPR to local communities. Despite language barriers at times, the experience allowed her to connect with people and see the impact of education and empowerment firsthand.

Back home, she supported Project Heart and helped facilitate several first aid courses. She also worked on analysing course performance to help improve future trainings.

Through this experience, Deeptee discovered another side of healthcare. It showed her that care does not only happen in hospitals. Prevention and public education also play an important role in helping communities stay safe and prepared.

If you are looking for an internship where you can gain hands-on experience and be part of meaningful work, this might be your sign.๏ฟฝCheck out the opportunities here: https://redcross.sg/get-involved/internship-opportunities.html

A big thank you to Friends of Sri Lanka for standing in solidarity with the Singapore Red Cross's relief efforts for Sri Lanka.

Through the breathtaking Dance of Unity: Rebuilding Sri Lanka charity concert, the community came together in an enchanting display of multicultural harmony.

These performances did more than just captivate an audience; they kindled hope and recovery for the communities rebuilding their lives after Cyclone Ditwah.

Behind every act of humanitarian service is someone who chose to step forward.

๐Ÿ™†โ€โ™€๏ธ This International Women's Day, weโ€™re sharing the voices of three women volunteers who give their time, care and strength to serve others through Singapore Red Cross.

Each of them found their own path into volunteering, but what keeps them going is the same belief that even small acts of service matter.

Kelly, Khaing and Shayeni remind us that showing up for others can take many forms, and that compassion continues to shape the communities around us.
