Breastfeeding may not be an official part of an obstetrician’s scope, but as a mother of two, as well as seeing my patients’ struggles, I have worked in conjunction with Nik’s bodyworks to support their first time breastfeeding workshop, exclusively for my patients! Personally, Nik (the founder) helped me tremendously during my postpartum the 2nd time, and breastfeeding went from an absolute nightmare with my firstborn, to literally a breeze with my second. Her gentle techniques and supportive advice made all the difference. Do contact them directly for sign ups!

It has been a pleasure Punggol!

With a heavy heart, we are closing our branch at STO+G Practice (Punggol), and focusing our services at our main clinics in Thomson Medical Centre and Royal Square Medical Centre. This will allow Dr Liana Koe to provide better attention and care to her patients. To our current patients at Punggol with appointments, our clinic should be contacting you very soon (if not already) for rescheduling to our other clinics. If you would like to reach out to us, you can do so at the usual contact number (67107515, or [email protected]).

Our last session will be held on 23rd February 2023, from 10am - 1pm, and 2pm - 4pm. See you then!

This is not goodbye, this is a thank you :)

First up: Pregnancy
Heard of the "pregnancy glow"? Well, don't be discouraged if you feel lousy, fatigued, bloated, nauseous, with aches and pains all over. Most women (including myself) feel all of the above! Each trimester is fraught with various ailments. The good news is that it will all end in 9 months with a bundle of joy😊

I felt the best in my 2nd trimester, when the nausea and tiredness had ended, and the heaviness/aches/difficulty sleeping of the 3rd trimester had yet to set in. This is also when you start to feel baby's movements (and they don't hurt yet!).

This picture was taken just 4 days before I delivered. I felt large, and could barely walk without getting shooting pains down my leg, as well as pelvic pains. Sitting down was uncomfortable, and I could not find a position to sleep in that didn't worsen my symptoms.

To help with the backaches and leg cramps, I went for plenty of pregnancy massages, did yoga, swimming, and simple exercises (my patients will know how much I nag them to do stretches and exercises😅). Warm foot soaks at night also helped with cramping and soreness.

My point is, do not feel disheartened if you are not feeling yourself during your pregnancy. And if you are one of the lucky ones that are breezing through it, be thankful and enjoy it!

As an OBGYN that has just delivered, I've decided to share a little about my pregnancy/birth journey for all my curious patients out there. Will try to update over the next few posts about what to expect in labour. I am usually not one to post about my personal life, but I'm hoping this will help answer some burning questions some of you may have:)

It's my last 2 weeks of maternity before I head back to work...thank you to all my patients who are waiting for me, and to those who had my covering Dr deliver them, thank you for trusting us at to take care of you.

For today's post, I would like to thank the team .sg for taking such great care of me❤
The professionalism of the midwives and nurses, calm demeanors, attentiveness and reassuring vibes all helped on a very nerve-wracking day. I've told my patients that TMC is truly top-notch, and they really lived up to expectations.

And to my obstetrician .irene.chua , my mentor, friend, and doctor, much love and gratitude😘
