Recently, the Straits Times published an article on the launch of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccine Abrysvo for use in pregnant mothers to protect newborn infants against this viral infection. Given between 32 and 36 wks of pregnancy, newborns can now be protected by the transfer of antibodies produced by their mummies up to 6 months of age.

In line with raising awareness on RSV infections and the availability & safety of the vaccine, Dr Jessie Phoon conducted a very well attended ObGyn peer review learning session to share clinical trials and evidence behind this vaccine.

As the new year begins, welcome Dr Ho Weng Yan to her new beginning! She currently runs clinics at our Royal Square and Thomson Medical branches. Prior to joining STO+G, Dr Ho was a Consultant in the Department of Gynaecologic Oncology in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital since 2017. She is skilled in minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgeries and open surgeries for both benign and cancer conditions. She is a certified colposcopist and a member of the Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology of Singapore.

As a mother of two, Dr Ho believes in the holistic care of women throughout their life journey. This includes tailoring advice and treatment to individual needs and circumstance from puberty to pregnancy to cancer prevention and screening to menopause. She is a keen patient advocate, and in recognition was awarded the Singhealth quality service Gold award in 2022 and Star award in 2023. We are excited for her to be part of the growing STO+G family!
