Some things nourish you in ways words can't quite explain.

We're excited to share that Art Therapy Open Studio Sessions @ Wasuka is coming up this April: a series of three Saturday sessions where you're invited to slow down, make something with your hands, and explore the memories and connections that have shaped you.

Held at the cosy, light-filled Wasuka Art Gallery at 81 Joo Chiat Road, each session is guided by one of our certified art therapists: Cynthia, Nicole, and Yenโ€”each bringing her own approach to creative exploration, self-reflection, and emotional nourishment.

You don't need to be an artist to show up.

Session dates:
๐Ÿ“… Sat, 25 April 2026: with Cynthia (art psychotherapist & play therapy practitioner)
๐Ÿ“… Sat, 30 May 2026: with Nicole (certified art therapist, specialising in youth & young adults)
๐Ÿ“… Sat, 27 June 2026: with Yen (registered art therapist, LASALLE-trained, with a focus on healing through symbolic imagery)

Each session begins with a minimum donation of $30, which also goes towards supporting The Red Pencil's arts therapy programmes for vulnerable children and families.

Whether you're looking to reconnect with yourself, process something quietly, or simply try something new in good company, there's a seat here for you.

We see you. And we've created a space just for you.

๐ŸŽจ Journey On โ€“ The Red Pencil (Singapore)'s signature art therapy programme for grieving caregivers โ€“ is back with confirmed dates.

No right words needed. Just you, a safe space, and credentialed art therapists to guide you through creativity, comfort, and connection.

In Art in Action, our monthly series, we shine a light on the incredible credentialed art therapists we collaborate with at The Red Pencil (Singapore)!

Vivyan is passionate about guiding children, families and adults to rediscover themselves through the creative language of art. With experience supporting clients under Child Protective Services, individuals with special needs, and those seeking mental health support, she brings both compassion and expertise to her practice. Drawing on her background in art history and programme management, Vivyan believes in the power of art to connect, educate, and transform, journeying alongside her clients with empathy, reflection, and care. ๐ŸŽจ

"To be honest, I think a lot of us have been shaped and moulded by society to fit in. We have been taught to push away parts of ourselves. Art therapy is a place to rediscover those parts and live a more authentic life.โ€

A HUGE thank you to the students of who stepped up during our recent Flag Day fundraiser!

Students took to the streets of Yew Tee, Woodlands, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Gombak last Saturday, rallying support from the community.

This year was also a special one as our own volunteers came down to our centre to collect their own tins and participate in Flag Day as well. Together, with the students, they raised an incredible $๐Ÿ”,๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’,๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘! ๐Ÿ’›

The funds they collected help us run clinical art therapy sessions for individuals who cannot afford the care they need. These sessions provide a safe and creative space for transformation, self-expression, and hope โ€” and itโ€™s all possible thanks to the dedication of students like these.

To the Unity Secondary students and staff team: thank you once again for being part of our mission. Youโ€™ve truly made a difference!

A special shoutout to Subject Head/English Ms Janet Xu as well, who has been the driving force behind this partnership for the past three years and without whom Flag Day would not be possible โค๏ธ

To our volunteers who came down in the afternoon to head out in force with tins of your ownโ€”your passion for our cause remains truly inspiring and we're so grateful for you!

There are things we long to say that never quite find their way out.

Artist and credentialed art therapist Yenโ€™s Ode To Thee was painted in the wake of her husband's passing. With many things she longed to say to him, Ode To Thee became a reflection of love that does not end, only changing form.

From 10โ€“12 April, join Yen as she hosts workshops inspired by her art, inviting teens and adults to create symbolic mixed-media artworks that carry a personal message, a wish, or a moment of appreciation.

There's a painting in this year's Art To HeART Charity Art Exhibition that started with two children, a beloved doll, and a love for dinosaurs.

Over The Rainbow began its life as a mum holding onto the precious memories of her children's early years. Now, it hangs on the walls of our Art To HeART Charity Art Exhibition 2026 for all to recapture the childlike innocence of their youth.

Join its artist and credentialed art therapist Yen on 10 & 12 April as she hosts two art therapy workshops inspired by both her works, where families and individuals can create their own art rooted in memory, hope, and what sustains us.

Supporting Youths to Thrive: Insights from an Art Therapy Programme

Join us for a public lecture with art psychotherapist Natalie Kang as she shares findings from Thrive, an 8-week art therapy programme designed to support adolescent mental health in Singapore secondary schools.

In this session, Natalie will explore how art-making helps youths navigate identity, emotional regulation, and resilience within our local high-pressure educational context. Sheโ€™ll also share clinical insights from a published study on how teens externalise hidden emotions through symbolic imagery.

โœจ The evening will end with a brief art experiential inspired by the programmeโ€™s closure ritual, a moment to reflect on what sustains us in our work and how we nurture belonging, both for others and ourselves.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Date: Tuesday 31 March 2026
โฐ Time: 6:30pm โ€“ 8:30pm
๐Ÿ“ Venue: LASALLE McNally Main Campus, Lecture Theatre Block F Level 2
