🔴 Red vs. 🟢 Green: Which Myrtle is your match?
We’re breaking down the difference between the "twins" of the essential oil world!
Both come from the Myrtus communis plant, sharing the same latin name [Myrtus communis], but they have totally different vibes.✨
✨"Myrtle Green" and "Myrtle Red" generally distilled from the same plant species, Myrtus communis (common myrtle), but they differ based on the specific variety/cultivar and growing region, resulting in different chemical compositions and properties.
✨Myrtle Green Essential Oil contains significantly more of the monoterpene a-Pinene than does Myrtle Red, and Myrtle Red contains much more of the oxide 1,8 Cineole than does Myrtle Green.
