As a pain specialist, I’ve been closely observing the rise of a common issue: neck pain caused by our digital lifestyles. I was privileged to contribute to the article by the Straits Times, even though I don't entirely agree with everything, particularly about the usage of PRP.
In Summary:
Tech Neck Syndrome: Spending hours hunched over smartphones, tablets, and laptops can strain our neck muscles and lead to discomfort.
Forward Head Posture: The more we tilt our heads downward to check screens, the more stress we put on our cervical spine.
Tips to Prevent Tech Neck:
Elevate Your Screen: Raise your device to eye level to reduce neck flexion.
Take Breaks: Set reminders to stretch and change positions every 30 minutes.
Strengthen Neck Muscles: Simple exercises can help maintain neck stability.
Mind Your Posture: Imagine a string pulling your head upward—keep that alignment! Sniff the morning air and hold it in that posture.
Gaming on a mobile phone is can be really harmful as you can spend hours hunched over the device. Find another way to game!
