Most of us treat insight like the finish line.

But you can know your patterns and still feel stuck, because awareness doesn’t automatically shift them.

This session looks at why change feels slow or absent even when you understand your inner world.

If you’ve ever wondered “Why hasn’t this changed yet?”, this is for you.

Awareness is only the first step.

Patterns that started in childhood often feel automatic in adulthood, protective, necessary, and hard to override.

That’s why “just stop” advice fails.

Real change requires understanding *why the pattern exists* and creating space to make new choices.

A grounded look at inherited patterns and what actually shifts them.

Save this for later, or share it with someone who keeps “trying to change” but can’t.

For many, the interest in psychotherapy or counselling starts quietly.

A curiosity about people.
A desire to support others more meaningfully.
A sense that listening, understanding, and holding space matters.

Taking the first step can feel unclear, especially when you are balancing work and other responsibilities.

Our 12-month part-time Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling offers an intensive pathway designed for working professionals preparing to enter the helping profession, and is SAC-recognised.

Through the programme, you will:
🔸 Build strong foundations in psychotherapy and counselling
🔸 Practise core therapeutic and listening skills
🔸 Deepen your understanding of client processes
🔸 Prepare for entry into the helping profession

Sometimes, the path begins with learning how to sit with another person’s story, and gradually developing the skills to support it with care and intention.

Discover how you can begin your learning.

Ever feel restless, anticipatory, or just… a little tangled inside?

You are not alone.

Sometimes the trick isn’t fixing how you feel, but understanding what your experience actually is. 🧠

Learn to give your thoughts and emotions the clarity they deserve, and watch how it changes your everyday rhythm.

Have you ever wondered why even “light” days can leave you mentally drained? 🌿

The truth is our brains carry invisible weights that pile up without us noticing.

Understanding these subtle demands can help you reclaim energy and clarity.

Discover what’s quietly shaping your energy and focus.

Life online can feel like everyone is moving ahead while you are standing still.

But what you see is often just a snapshot of someone’s journey.

The milestones that catch your eye can shape what you notice in your own life 🌱.

Take a moment to see the full picture of your own progress.

Most conversations don’t feel like they matter that much.
A quick reply here, a passing comment there.

But over time, these small moments begin to shape how safe people feel, how willing they are to speak up, and how teams come together.

Trust is often built quietly, in ways we don’t always notice.

Sometimes, it starts with something as simple as how we choose to respond. 🌿

Spending time in nature does more than give us a break.

It supports how our bodies regulate stress, restore energy, and return to balance. 🌿

In the middle of full days, this kind of support can be easy to overlook. Yet even a few minutes outdoors can begin to shift how we feel and function.

As we pause for Earth Hour today, let’s take a moment to reconnect with the environments that quietly support our wellbeing.

High performance often looks impressive from the outside.

But what it feels like on the inside can be very different.

When success comes with constant pressure and little space to recover, it can slowly become harder to sustain.

There is value in asking a quieter question. What helps us keep doing well without losing ourselves along the way? 💭

You’re not broken. Many adult struggles didn’t start with personal failure, they began with family dynamics, unspoken expectations, and childhood survival patterns.

Join “You’re Not Broken: You Might Be Carrying Someone Else’s Story” to understand how inherited patterns shape adult life, why insight alone rarely resolves long-standing struggles, and how understanding context can create space for real growth.

Who Should Attend:
- Adults who feel emotionally over-responsible
- People curious about family dynamics and upbringing
- Anyone noticing recurring patterns in relationships or work

In celebration of International Women's Day and International Day of Happiness, we partnered with DUO to explore a question many high performers know quietly and deeply.

If success keeps growing, why do we still feel tired, flat, or disconnected?

In the talk "Why Chasing Happiness Makes Us Miserable", Stephen Lew and Jana Dawson unpacked the psychology of the achievement trap and the tension between external success and internal wellbeing.

The conversation invited us to look beyond performance and towards what truly sustains a flourishing life.

Through the lens of eudaimonic wellbeing and the PERMAH framework, we reflected on meaning, relationships, strengths, and gratitude as anchors for a more grounded and energising way of living.

These are not extras to pursue after success. They are part of what helps success feel meaningful in the first place.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this thoughtful session. We hope it offered a gentle pause and a timely reminder to reconnect with what matters most. :herb:

You sleep more.

You rest.

You even take a break.

But the exhaustion doesn’t go away.

Many people assume they’re simply tired. Yet what they may be experiencing is burnout, something that rest alone cannot fix.

Join Stephen Lew for a psychoeducation talk exploring the deeper psychology behind burnout, why capable adults often struggle silently, and how to recognise the warning signs earlier.
