December is here — one of our favourite months of the year. It’s a season many of us look forward to: slowing down, sharing meals, and reconnecting with friends and family through laughter and heartfelt conversations.
For Sarah, however, this December feels a little different. Having discovered her hearing loss earlier this year, she shared that she feels both excited and anxious about the upcoming festive gatherings. Work meetings and group conversations have already become challenging, and noisy places like restaurants make it even harder. When planning holiday catch-ups, her first thought isn’t the food or the cuisine — it’s whether the space is quiet enough for her to hear, follow conversations, and truly feel included, while at the same time, she takes steps toward hearing aid support to help her hear more clearly and with ease.
The festive season is about joy — but more than that, it is about connection. Being present. Feeling heard. And making sure our loved ones feel the same.
