In October, we had the pleasure of being part of Microsoft Singapore’s GIVE Week, at the invitation of their LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, GLEAM.

Microsoft employees surprised us by coming dressed in green! We shared The Greenhouse story and explored what trauma-informed care looks like in practice, complete with a bit of role-play to train our empathy muscles. Participants then took time to write thoughtful words of encouragement for our clients. The notes we received were heartfelt and uplifting.

HCV (Hepatitis C) is now a curable condition, with affordable treatment. Many of us may not have tested for HCV before, as there’s less awareness around it.

Come take a free and anonymous HCV test, as part of a research study. So we can better understand the needs of our community, while taking care of our bodies!

No registration is required, and the entire process takes less than an hour, after filling in an online survey. Please join us for this milestone event — we hope to see you there!

How can we better support someone in distress, in a manner that is safe, competent and compassionate?

Join us for Supporting Marginalised and Vulnerable Communities, a workshop by The Greenhouse for anyone who facilitates, volunteers, or works with communities. Together, we’ll explore simple frameworks and tools to respond with care and confidence when someone experiences emotional distress during community events or activities.

This session will be led by Daniel Ho, The Greenhouse’s volunteer learning coordinator and clinician, alongside our facilitators. It’s a workshop that first-time attendees will benefit most from, though returning participants are always welcome to join again!

On 15 November 2025, The Pride Gala makes its dazzling debut at Rabbit’s Hole, blending fashion, performance, and philanthropy into one unforgettable night. Running from 11PM to 3AM, the Gala will be followed by the recovery party Rest in the Jungle at Mondrian Singapore on 16 November.

More than just a party, with sponsors covering all production costs, 100% of The Pride Gala’s proceeds go directly to The Greenhouse, a local trauma-informed recovery centre.

Themed "The Allure of the Orient," Season 1 of the Gala features drag performances by Sammi Zhen, Opera Tang, and Vivihoe, alongside international DJs Ming, Rita Rita and Pat+, with Rita Rita and Pat+ performing their first back to back set in Singapore.

With a red carpet and photographers capturing every look, guests are encouraged to go bold and extravagant.

The Pride Gala is produced in collaboration with Rabbit’s Hole and Restroom, with Dear Straight People as the official media partner and BluePrint as the event partner.

Every year, we welcome a new batch of counsellors through our Counselling Internship Programme — it is one of our most sought-after programmes, which provides structured and rigorous training in our signature Sexuality, Substance Use, Trauma and Co-Occuring Disorders (SSTC) framework.

As our promise is to provide competent and compassionate care that will not further stigmatise or retraumatise those who seek help at our centre, this is the minimum amount of training we feel is required to keep this promise to our clients. Those who graduate from this programme go on to serve diverse communities at government, non-government and community organisations, or have set up their own private practice.

We’ve just graduated our 8th batch of interns, who have been serving with us since March this year. We always appreciate when our volunteers come in with a spirit of learning and service, and this batch has been no different. Thank you for growing with us

The strength of our recovery community lies in the knowledge, empathy, and readiness of our Peer Supporters. At The Greenhouse, our Peer Support Volunteers are continuously learning so they can walk alongside others with care and confidence.

This month’s Continuing Education session explored “Kpods and Etomidates: How Peer Supporters Can Help” — unpacking what these substances are, their effects, and how Peer Supporters can support peers navigating the unique challenges related to them. With increased attention on Kpods and va**ng in Singapore, it is all the more vital that our Peer Supporters are equipped to respond with understanding and accurate information.

These sessions not only build our Peer Supporters’ knowledge, but also empower them with practical tools to support others with compassion and insight. It’s one of the many ways we strengthen our community, so that everyone who comes through our doors is met with competent and compassionate care.

We are happy to share that The Greenhouse has been featured in Rice Media!

Our founder Alaric Tan's personal story has often been retold — not to place the spotlight solely on one individual, but because it represents something greater: that recovery is possible, and that lived experience can be a powerful foundation for building safe spaces of change.

Beyond the personal narrative, the feature offers a closer look at our mission — creating a nurturing environment where individuals can heal from trauma, outgrow addiction, and grow into a person that serves others. It also captures some of the quieter, everyday work that often goes unseen: listening, building trust, and walking alongside people as they take steps toward recovery.
