His wife noticed before he did.

Hunched shoulders. Head forward. A body that looked like it was carrying the weight of every deadline he'd ever missed.
He didn't come in because he was in pain. He came in because the people closest to him could see what he couldn't.

Sound familiar?

Here's something most office workers don't know โ€” forward head posture isn't just a neck problem. Research published in Healthcare (2024) found that when your head sits forward of your shoulders, blood flow through the vertebral artery is reduced and stress-related brain activity increases. The brain essentially reads your posture as a threat. Sympathetic nervous system on. Rest-and-digest off.

That looks like: rushing through decisions. Feeling irritable for no clear reason. A low hum of anxiety that you've just... accepted.

After a thorough consultation and assessment Zxane committed to a care plan and within a few sessions, he started feeling the difference. That was almost 9 years ago. Now Zxane and his whole family come in monthly. Not because something's wrong but because they've chosen to keep their nervous system thriving.

(Yes, I fumbled explaining the study in the video. We kept it in. Science is wild and sometimes the words don't cooperate โ€” but the research is real ๐Ÿ˜…)

If your spouse has been giving you the look about how you sit this one's for you.

Tag someone whose posture their partner has been noticing. ๐Ÿ‘‡

A mum sent us this message after her adjustment (read slide 2 of carousel)..

We sat with it for a moment โ€” because we've heard versions of this so many times, and it never gets old.
Let us explain what is happening here..

Your body has 2 modes.

๐Ÿฅท๐ŸปFight or flight โ€” where it's ready to react, defend, survive.
๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธRest and digest โ€” where it can calm down, recover, and think clearly.

Most mums are stuck in fight or flight. Not because of bad parenting. Because of stress that never fully switches off.

Here's the physiology behind it.
Your spine protects your spinal cord โ€” the main highway between your brain and your nervous system. When there's tension or misalignment in the spine, it can irritate that communication pathway. Your brain reads that as a threat signal. So it keeps your body in high alert mode.
That means cortisol stays elevated. Your heart rate stays up. Your patience runs thin. You snap faster. You recover slower.

Sound familiar?

Chiropractic adjustments work on that exact pathway. Research shows that spinal adjustments influence the autonomic nervous system โ€” specifically helping shift the body from sympathetic (fight or flight) to parasympathetic (rest and digest) activity.

When your nervous system gets a chance to downshift, you think more clearly. You react less. You have more capacity for the hard moments.

This is your body doing exactly what it was built to do.

And that's what our mum experienced the morning after her adjustment ๐Ÿ˜

We hear this more than you'd think. Whether you're a parent noticing changes in your teenager, or an adult who's been carrying this diagnosis for years, this reel is for you. We cover what scoliosis actually is, how we confirm it, and what chiropractic can do. Save this one.

Scoliosis isn't just a curve in the spine. It affects your nerves, your movement, even how deeply you can breathe. And for teenagers especially, the timing matters because once growth plates close, the options change significantly.

We see patients of all ages come in โ€” some with fresh concerns, some with x-rays they've been holding onto for years not knowing what to do next. Wherever you are in that journey, understanding your spine is the first step.

Chiropractic care won't erase a curve but it can reduce pain, improve mobility, support the nervous system, and help you move better at any age. That's what we're here for.

Last pic is thanks to you all ๐Ÿ˜

Every week we get to witness these moments and this week was a good one.

From pregnant mamas preparing for birth, to tiny humans hitting milestones, to families who have trusted us for years. This is why we do what we do.

Let this be your sign. We would love to be part of your village too.

One of the most common questions we get is "๐™๐™ค๐™ฌ ๐™™๐™ค ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช ๐™ ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฌ ๐™ž๐™› ๐™จ๐™ค๐™ข๐™š๐™ฉ๐™๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ž๐™จ ๐™ค๐™›๐™›?" And the truth is, it's not just about pain. It goes so much deeper than that.

When we assess a pregnant mama, we're looking at the whole picture. How you move. How you hold yourself. Where your body is gripping, guarding, or compensating. Because by the time something hurts, your body has often been quietly working around it for a while.

We pay close attention to the pelvis and for good reason. The pelvis is everything during pregnancy. We check how it's moving, where tension is sitting, and how the muscles around it โ€” the hips, glutes, and round ligaments โ€” are responding. These muscles and structures hold so much. Stress, old injuries, the way you've been sleeping, the way you've been moving through daily life.

And why does this matter so much? Because a pelvis that moves freely, that isn't holding onto tension, creates the space your baby needs to settle well and gives your body the best possible foundation for the birth you're hoping for.For so many of the women we work with, a vaginal birth is deeply important to them. This is one of the ways we support that. Not with force. Not with rigidity. But by helping your body feel safe, open, and ready.

This is what holistic pregnancy care looks like. It's not just adjusting. It's listening, assessing, understanding โ€” and working with your body every step of the way.

If you're pregnant and curious about whether your body could use some support, we'd love to hear from you. ๐Ÿค

That mild scoliosis curve at age 12? Here's what decades of life can do to it. ๐ŸŒฟ

It might have been a mild curve picked up at a school check and thenโ€ฆ life happened. Years at a desk, long hours, pregnancies, the weight of everything we carry daily. And slowly, quietly, the body adapts around it.

What we often see when someone comes in (in this case when Doula Sarah from ) came in for a check โ€” forward head posture, uneven shoulders, rib hu***ng, an exaggerated curve in the lower back. Classic signs that the spine has been compensating for a long time. These aren't just postural quirks. They're the body doing its best with what it's been given.

During pregnancy, this matters even more. A spine that's already managing asymmetry is now also supporting a growing baby, shifting weight, and preparing for birth. That's a lot to ask of a body that hasn't had support.

So what do we do? We assess. We adjust. And where it's appropriate, we talk about strength, because building the muscles that support your spine is one of the most powerful things you can do for long term change. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

And I want to be transparent here. Chiropractic care is one part of the picture. For our mamas managing more significant scoliosis, we work alongside other providers (people who specialize in rehabilitation and movement), because the best outcomes come from a team approach, not a single solution. We know what we do well, and we know when to refer ๐Ÿค

Your spine has been with you your whole life. It's never too late to start understanding it better.

Got questions? Drop them in the comments โ€” we'd love to answer them. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ

There's something about working with pregnant mums that I just love. ๐Ÿฅน

They show up for themselves in a way that's honestly so inspiring. From the moment they find out they're expecting, something shifts. They become so in tune with their body, noticing every little change, every signal, every nudge telling them what they need.

They trust their gut. They honour what they're going through. And they make choices โ€” big and small โ€” that say I matter too, not just my baby.

I know that's not always easy. Especially if this is your second or third pregnancy โ€” when you're already running on empty and everyone else's needs seem to come first. But you deserve care too ๐Ÿ’•

That's exactly what chiropractic care during pregnancy is. A small, intentional act of looking after yourself. Because when your body is supported, when you're moving well and feeling good, everything else gets a little easier โ€” the sleep, the discomfort, the mental load of growing a whole human. ๐Ÿ˜Š

And honestly? Being part of that journey is one of the greatest privileges of my work. Watching mums walk in tired and uncomfortable, and leave feeling lighter, more connected to their body, more confident in what it's doing โ€” that never gets old.

To every pregnant mum out there, whether you've been coming in for weeks or you haven't quite made that step yet โ€” you're doing amazing, and you deserve to feel good in your body.

If you're looking for support during your pregnancy, I'd love to be part of your journey. Feel free to reach out or book in โ€” I'm here for you ๐Ÿค

New Beginnings Chiropractic turns 2 today ๐ŸŽ‰

To mark the occasion, we're sharing the final video in our origin story series โ€” and it's the one closest to our hearts.

Our logo. What it means. Where it comes from.

We each share what we brought to it โ€” silver fern & koru (Aymunl, batik and community (Radiah) to represent our upbringing and honour what shaped us both.

Two stories. One logo.

Enjoy the video โค๏ธ

Two years ago, the clinic we worked at closed. I was on an EP (employment pass to be able to live & work in Singapore), and going back to New Zealand felt like the sensible option. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ

But then Radiah and I looked at each other โ€” and we took a leap of faith instead ๐Ÿค

When we opened, we inherited outstanding credits from the old clinic. Patients had paid for sessions that were never rendered. My husband thought I was crazy, but we knew what we had to do โ€” we honoured every single one. These were families who had trusted us with their hard earned money and their health. We couldn't just walk away from that.

Some days a patient sits in front of me and shares their story, and I cry. Because they're not always coming in saying help me. Sometimes they just want to be heard first. And I never want to forget that.

Two years on โ€” new beginnings, new chapters, and we made it. Despite everything. โœจ

I used to be a lab tech. I never imagined I'd own a business. ๐Ÿ’›

But life had other plans โ€” my cousin introduced me to chiropractic, my mother devoted her life to caring for women in our community, and I knew I wanted to carry that forward.

My family has been my everything through this, looking after my child, showing up, believing in me before I believed in myself.

Two years in, and I'm still in awe of how far we've come. For every woman in our community who needs this โ€” I created this for you. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Things parents are told all the timeโ€ฆ
that donโ€™t always sit right with us.

After years of working with pregnant mums, babies and growing kids, these are a few hills weโ€™ll happily stand/die on.

Some might be unpopular.

But parents deserve better conversations than โ€œjust wait it out.โ€

Which one do you agree with most?
