🪔🌟 Thank you to everyone who joined our recent Deepavali celebration at Active Global @ Ghim Moh Edge! From the bingo session to freestyle clay lamp painting, we hope everyone had fun taking part in the activities, enjoyed the yummy Indian lunch buffet too!

Special thanks to Mdm Jamuna for creating the beautiful rangoli for us, as well as and a big shoutout to all our volunteers for helping to make this celebration a successful one. Thank you everyone! ☺️

Besides the regular table-top activities like colouring pages and puzzle games, our Senior Care Centre also keeps our seniors engaged through an assortment of activities like group exercise sessions, movie time, and from time to time even a game of mahjong or two. As not every activity may appeal to everyone, providing some variety enables us to connect with more seniors while encouraging them to engage their cognitive minds. In doing so, we strive to enhance their quality of life, as well as promote a positive, lively atmosphere within our centre!

To wrap up the month of September, our centre members were invited to attend a Seniors Appreciation Concert at Singapore Polytechnic, organised by the school's SP Welfare Services Club (WSC)! 🎤💃

Attendees got to enjoy performances by the school's various arts and cultural clubs such as SP Malay Dance Society, SP Indian Dance Society and more. There was even a nostalgic throwback with a massive singalong to the very well-known Mandarin 90's classic '朋友 (Friends)' by Emil Chau, which the audience definitely enjoyed! Thank you to everyone at Singapore Polytechnic for making this concert happen 😊

At the beginning of this month, our centre welcomed a new batch of members - the residents of Cavendish Park! Along with some of our current fellow members, the group set off for an outing at Qian Hu Fish Farm 🐟🐠 It may not be our centre's first time at the farm, the same cannot be said for our attending members in this excursion. We hope enjoyed their time on this outing with us! 😊

When we think of Yakult, the first thing that comes to mind for most of us would be a lady with a trolley, knocking on our doors and getting us to buy some packs of Yakult from her. It's a drink that's a staple in many Singaporean families, and our AAC members over at Pine Grove had the special opportunity to visit the beverage's manufacturing factory with us!

Over at the factory, attending members learned in detail the benefits of the Yakult drink for our gut health, how the drink is made, and more. Each person also got to enjoy a bottle of Yakult during the session. Thank you Yakult factory for hosting us! ❤

Our centre recently concluded our annual Functional Screening cm Silver Carnival! Were you there?

This year's annual Functional Screening cm Silver Carnival event was held on 1st August, located at both our centre as well as the nearby pavilion. The pavilion housed booths from partners including NUHS, SG Digital Office, Silver Generation Office, CPF Board, NParks and more, sharing useful information ranging from personal wealth management to healthy living and personal safety to the seniors and residents.

Over at our centre, functional screenings were facilitated by Project Silver Screen for senior residents. At just a small subsidised fee, participants got to check that their eyes, ears and mouth were in good health, all in the convenient venue that was our active ageing centre.

Thank you to all our staff, partners and especially our participating seniors for joining us in this year's screening and carnival event! A special shoutout to our lovely volunteers as well for lending a hand in ensuring a smooth event for everyone! See you again next year ‍🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻🙋🏻‍♂️
