One of the biggest myths in parenting is that you need someone else to approve your instincts.

You don’t.

Parents often carry the weight of invisible eyes, wondering if they’re “doing it right.” But you’re allowed to notice what works for *your* child. You’re allowed to shift gears, say no to what isn’t working, and yes to the weird and wonderful path that is.

Boredom gets a bad reputation.

But when we resist the urge to fill every silence and scroll away every lull, it’s really a hidden superpower. When children are given unstructured, uninterrupted time, they have the chance to author their days and to meet themselves.

That’s when they start to tinker, wonder, and get frustrated. And then push through the boredom to become self-sufficient in figuring out things to do and to learn.

That’s how they grow not just knowledge, but self-direction. Of turning inward. Of exploring outward. And of discovering that their minds are capable of more than consumption — they can invent, build, question, and create. 💭🪀

We’ve internalised an entire system that tells us to ask for permission: whether that’s before trying something different, before stepping off the comfortable, well-paved road, and before listening to our instincts.
