As part of the SG60 festivities, our seniors stepped out of our centre for an excursion to Ji Xiang bakery's flagship store at Bugis! Attendees got to try hand at making their own traditional chinese pastry, including the ang ku kueh, which is the brand's most famous item. At the end of the session, they got to bring home their (cooked!) handiworks to enjoy with their loved ones too. Thank you to our hosts at the bakery for the fun and yummy workshop! 😋❤️

It's never a dull moment in our senior care centre whenever we have guests coming over - earlier this month, our seniors spent some time with the little ones from Star Learner as they performed a few simple yet mood-lifting songs and dances for them!

The intergenerational experience aims to foster bonds between the different age groups, and the interactions play a part in improving the mental and emotional well-being of our seniors and participating kids too. Thank you kids, and do drop by again soon! 😊🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️

👵🏻🪴👦🏻 On June 23rd, our seniors welcomed the kids from e-Bridge to our Active Ageing Centre (Care) for a planting activity together!

During this collaborative inter-generational activity, participants - both the young and young at heart - joined hands in planting some seeds in pots made from recycled plastic bottles, where they all got to bring a potted seed home at the end of the session. 👧🏻🌱👴🏻

Last week, activity organiser Edufarm hosted a tea appreciation workshop for our members. In the hour-long session, our members learnt about the difference and benefits of different types of Pu'er tea leaves, savour tea that they tried their hand at brewing, and had a simple but fun paper fan painting activity where they got to take home their works of art at the end of the workshop. 🍵🍂

Once in a while, our senior care centre welcomes volunteer groups from external organisations, where they engage our seniors with fun activities and performances that they have prepared. From song and dance items to group games, there's never a boring time here! 💃🕺🎤

Art Therapy at the museum 🏯🌳

In their most recent trip to the Asian Civilisations Museum on 29 May, our members had the opportunity to try their hands at assembling their own pagoda garden! This activity was part of the recently concluded Pagoda Odyssey 1915: From Shanghai to San Francisco Special Exhibition.

For Mother's Day earlier this month, our members were paid a visit by their lovely little neighbours from E-Bridge Pre-School! The kids dropped by our centre and put up a few song and dance performances, and got to play some simple yet fun carnival-style games together with our members too.

Thank you little ones for dropping by, we hope you had fun and do come by again! 😊

Last Friday, our AAC members went on a morning trip to Kallang Water Sports Centre to try out dragon boating together!

Members from our two other AACs at Fernvale Glades and Ghim Moh Edge also joined in on this first-time experience. Despite the erratic weather that morning, we are happy to see everyone being a good sport and enjoying the activity nevertheless! 🐲🚣🏼
