Nobody teaches us how to breathe. We assume we already know.
But most of us breathe shallowly all day — short, chest-level breaths that keep the nervous system in a low-grade state of alert, even when nothing is wrong.
Even when the meeting is over. Even when we are lying still at midnight wondering why we cannot switch off.
This is not a flaw. It is a pattern. And patterns can be changed.
Shallow breathing tells the body: not safe yet. Keep going.
Intentional breathwork interrupts that signal directly — activating the pathways responsible for moving the body from stress response into genuine rest.
Studies show even a few minutes of conscious breathwork can measurably lower cortisol and heart rate.
This is not mystical. It is physiology. And the tool is one you carry with you everywhere — most of us just never learned how to use it.
Mindful Breathwork with Kim. Every Thursday at 4.30pm.
