Mental health symptoms are often described subjectively: “I feel anxious,” "I cannot focus,” "I have no motivation.”

Brain mapping allows us to examine objective functional patterns that may contribute to these experiences.

Excess fast-wave (high-beta) activity is frequently associated with hyperarousal and chronic stress.

Reduced frontal activation may correspond with diminished executive functioning and motivational drive.

Hemispheric asymmetries have been explored in mood research for decades.
