10 days in the desert. Battleground Podiatry at its finest.
Volunteering as a podiatrist at Marathon des Sables – the legendary ultra in Morocco – has been nothing short of unforgettable. From some of the worst feet I’ve ever treated (blisters on blisters!) to witnessing the raw highs, lows, and grit of runners pushing through the unimaginable.
Truly inspired to represent Podiatry at the world’s toughest foot race, and incredibly proud to stand alongside such an exceptional team of professionals. This race isn’t just about endurance – it’s about resilience, community, and the power of the human spirit.
Sand, sweat, suffering… and stories I’ll never forget.
I hope this experience inspires more podiatrists to get involved with MDS – it’s an adventure like no other.
