This is highly likely an ACL injury, commonly seen in skiing-related accidents.
Despite the audible “pop” and swelling, many active individuals are still able to walk immediately after the injury.
But early assessment matters — not just to confirm the diagnosis (often with imaging), but to decide the right management plan, whether surgical or physical therapy.
