Hi Parents!

TLC is holding a FREE orientation session for the Hanen More Than Words (MTW) Programme on Sunday, 16 Feb 2025 from 9-11am at United Square.


By popular demand, we will be running the Hanen More Than Words (MTW) programme (https://hanen.org/programs/more-than-words) for parents of children up to 8 years old. This is a workshop for parents to support their child’s social communication and language development.

The Hanen More Than Words programme is an evidence-based parent/caregiver coaching course that supports parents/caregivers to communicate in a way that gives an EXTRA boost to their children with social communication difficulties. This programme is recommended for parents/caregivers of children with autism or children with social communication difficulties. The programme will cost $2450 for 12 in-person sessions - 8 group sessions with parents/caregivers only and 4 one-to-one sessions in which the speech therapist will coach parents/caregivers with the child present.

In the free orientation session on Sunday, 16 Feb 2025 (9-11am), parents will be provided information about:

- the content and process of the More Than Words Programme, so that they can assess if it is a good fit for their family’s needs
- what communication means and to help them better understand how their child communicates
- identifying their child’s stage of communication

During the orientation session, parents will also be able to ask the speech therapist more questions about the workshop and connect with other parents who might be interested in the course too.
