Sebelumnya, kita telah belajar tentang kebaikan dan kejatuhan tiga ragam kasih alamiah: keluarga (storge), romansa (eros), dan persahabatan (filia). Kasih alamiah itu indah adanya, tetapi juga dapat menimbulkan pemberhalaan.

Lalu, bagaimana kasih ilahi (agape) berkaitan dengan ketiga kasih alamiah? Persisnya, bagaimana kasih ilahi memberdayakan dan menguduskan kasih alamiah, sebagaimana tukang kebun memberdayakan kebun dengan siraman air dan nutrisi?

Love is beautiful ❤️; but love can also mislead us 💔. Additionally, when love becomes our highest authority, it slowly turns into an idol 🗿.

Eros is a gift from God. But even this type of love finds its true place only when it is subjected to Him.

Is your love leading you closer to God or replacing Him? 🙏

About 2000 years ago, Paul wrote a letter to Titus who was ministering in Crete which was infamous for its cruel, violent, lazy and immoral standards. With such an environment, it was critical that Titus established correct church order and the right Biblical principles of faith.

For many people, a new year is always associated with new year resolutions.

In the same way, Christians are also invited to make our resolutions. Yet not for ourselves, but as promises before God. We can learn from Jonathan Edwards, whose resolutions before God remind us to pursue holiness with humility and dependence on grace.

May God’s grace enable us to make and fulfill our resolutions before Him. 🙏✨
