in Alpha Abraham is a Keralite, born and brought up in Calcutta. He left home in 1960 when he was 16 to start maritime training on the training ship Dufferin in Bombay and became a master mariner in 1972. He has spent almost half a decade in the shipping industry and has held various positions in India and Singapore over that period of time – ship master, surveyor, operations and shipping manager, general manager and now shipping consultant. He sailed into Singapore in 1972 and made it his home. He is married to Mary, who simply loves his food.
