"We are already happy at work. We are attending this to be happier!“ 😄

Actually had fun with SUSS staff who were very participative. In a short 90-minute workshop, practical techniques covered on how to think positive, manage negative emotions and aromatherapy for immediate uplift. Well, it was happiness at work for me too! 🤗

She sat at the back and they said she was
shy
She led from the front and they hated her
pride
They asked her advice and then questioned her guidance
They branded her loud then were shocked by her silence

When she shared no ambition, they said it was
sad
So she told them her dreams and they said she was mad
They told her they’d listen then covered their
ears
And gave her a hug whilst they laughed at her
fears

And she listened to all of it thinking she
should
Be the girl they told her to be best as she
could
But one day she asked what was best for
herself
Instead of trying to please everyone
else

So she walked to the forest and stood with the
trees
She heard the wind whisper and dance with the leaves
And she spoke to the willow, the elm and the
pine
And she told them what she’d been told time after time

She told them she felt she was never enough
She was either too little or far, far too much
Too loud or too quiet, too fierce or too weak
Too wise or too foolish, too bold or too meek

Then she found a small clearing surrounded by
firs
And she stopped and she heard what the trees said to her
And she sat there for hours not wanting to
leave
For the forest said nothing, it just let her

breathe

Being authentic takes courage and integrity.

Being "nice" can lead to resentment. We need to be authentic, set boundaries, and risk disapproval in order to respect ourselves and meet our own needs.

One soul is all it takes to raise us all.

We are connected in a collective consciousness as beings of this universe.

The same energy that created this universe also runs through each of us.

As the consciousness of one person rises through unconditional acts of love, the rest of us rise along.

Change to the whole though would be slow and subtle.

Love is a high vibrational emotion devoid of any negative traces.

When operating on the level of Love, everything that we do or say is a blessing unto others.

This in turns attracts abundance back to us.

If unreciprocated by others, the mere acts of love that include acts of kindness are enough to induce the feel good oxytocin within us to make us feel a million bucks.

Why? Love for others may lead to disappointments when others do not deliver to expectations. When self love is well established, we are no longer dependent on someone else to make us happy. ⁠

Self love sounds like a quality we are naturally endowed with. After all, we live and breathe us 24/7 - what's there not to like?⁠

Our negative inner voice has the tendency though to get the most frequent or loudest airplay, broadcasting messages like we are not good enough, not successful enough, not slim enough, or not pretty enough. ⁠

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being total disgust to 10 being absolute adoration for self, where are you at? ⁠

If at a depressing low, what is one thing you could do, regularly and consciously, that could help you inch up that scale and stay there? ⁠

One positive daily action could be to make yourself feel good with the use of scents. LOVE from applied on the centre of chest (heart chakra) brings immediate soothing to the self.

Love nourishes, relaxes and lightens the entire body. How? ⁠

Peptides are neurotransmitters that carry emotional messages throughout our body. These messages can change the chemistry of the cells of our body - negatively or positively depending on what we have been thinking and feeling. ⁠

So how to feel love being a single, or under super stress? ⁠

Imagine. ⁠

Feel how it feels like to be loved. Feel love emitting from the heart chakra (centre of the chest), flowing to the entire body. ⁠

Essential oils can make this exercise more effective. For instance, the LOVE blends from can either be applied on the heart chakra, or diffused in the room.

Love can be an abstract emotion that envelopes us. It can also take the form of actions. An act of love is an act of kindness. In this unique case, the giver sometimes gets back more than what is given out.

Research shows that acts of kindness release oxytocin.

🤗 Oxytocin, known as "the love hormone," contributes to mood and overall wellbeing.

In addition to oxytocin, other feel-good chemical substances are also released:

🤗 Serotonin - neurotransmitter that regulates mood
🤗 Dopamine - chemical messenger in the brain that creates a feeling of euphoria

When we are kind to another person, our brain’s pleasure and reward centers light up. It is as if we were the recipient of the good deed — not the giver. This phenomenon is called the “helper’s high.”

However, this high isn't lasting. Just one single act of kindness isn't going to last hours.

Acts of kindness have to be repeated.

Kindness is most beneficial when it is part of a regular practice worked into our daily lives.

It can be donating, volunteering, or simply holding the elevator for someone - acts of unconditional kindness and love that do not expect anything in return.

The practice of acts of kindness is so effective that it's being formally incorporated into some types of psychotherapy.
