After weeks of preparation, the girls from the TKGS Arts Club spent the final day of their school holidays at the Integrated Care Hub (ICH), where patients were introduced to digital illustration and linocut printingโmany for the very first time.
It was a heartwarming harmony between the schoolโs Values-in-Action programme and the initiative. We look forward to create more meaningful and enriching experiences for both students and patients in the year ahead!

For the second year, our team at the TTSH Integrated Care Hub organised a Christmas Carnival for its patients. The patients took part in arts and crafts, games inspired by fencing, and even a mini concert by our very own music therapist (with a special appearance by Santa!)
Our staff, volunteers, patients, and their loved ones brought back gifts and memories that they won't soon forget.
A shoutout to everyone who made this event an unforgettable experience for our patients โค๏ธ๐

Every Christmas, our wards and clinical areas glam up their space to bring the festive cheer to our staff and patients.
Coined A Better Christmas, this decoration competition brings out the creative capabilities of our staff, as they come together to clinch the top prize.
For the past few years, the focus of these decorations have been โป๏ธ SUSTAINABILITY โป๏ธ. Our staff utilise recycled or reusable items such as masks, syringes, gloves and medical packaging - repurposing them to make the ornaments.
This Christmas, we bring the festive cheer while protecting the environment - one of our initiatives we take .

Complex spinal surgery at TTSH is now less invasive, more precise and more personalised with the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The AI-assisted pre-surgical spine-modelling tool goes beyond accurately mapping out a patientโs spine. It also generates plans on where and how instruments should be inserted to straighten the spine.
With AI taking care of detailed pre-surgical planning, surgeons can focus their expertise on managing complex casesโsuch as older patients with severe spinal deformities and osteoporosis (frail bones) that require careful straightening.
An AI-guided robotic navigator also enhances screw placement accuracy, reducing the margin of error, surgical time, manpower needs and the risk of complications.
Mdm Jenny Ee, a patient with scoliosis-related nerve compression, shared that she experienced significant pain relief just one day after surgery.
โThere is no more guesswork with the AI tool,โ said Adj A/Prof Jacob Oh, Head of Spine Surgery and Senior Consultant of TTSHโs Orthopaedic Surgery Department. Hospital stays have also been reduced by up to 50%, added Dr Wayne Yap, Consultant of TTSHโs Orthopaedic Surgery.
They say home is where the heart is โ yesterday, our hospital became a little more like home with the presence of the family of Tan Tock Seng.
We shared a heartwarming afternoon filled with much joy, as Christmas carols wrapped our halls in warmth, comfort and hope. โฅ๏ธ๐โจ

Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death, and the leading cause of adult disability in Singapore.
At TTSH, our nurses work hand in hand with the clinicians from the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) as well as the Emergency Department to provide the best possible care for our stroke patients. From rehabilitation, to planning post-hospitalisation care management, we ensure that our patients are empowered in their recovery journey, and go on with life normally after stroke.
We are honoured to receive the ANGELS Awards this year, presented by the World Stroke Organization. This recognition is awarded to institutions for their work in implementing and promoting best practices in stroke care.
Congratulations team on this remarkable achievement, which is made possible through our strategic collaboration and our focus on human-centric care.

We are excited to be the key clinical partner in Wearable Imaging for Transforming Elderly Care (WITEC), a multi-year research programme supported by the National Research Foundation Singapore and led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the National University of Singapore. The project aims to develop the worldโs first wearable ultrasound imaging system capable of continuous, real-time monitoring of internal organs.
As the programmeโs lead clinical site, TTSH will drive the Phase 1 clinical trial starting in 2026 to evaluate continuous ultrasound monitoring for patients with chronic cardiovascular conditions. The trial, led by Dr Violet Hoon, Senior Consultant at the TTSH Cardiology Department, will involve about 50 patients. Subsequently, other organs such as stomach, liver, and bladder will also be trialed here.
TTSHโs role includes validating the effectiveness of a cart-based bioadhesive ultrasound system designed to power and receive data from the ultrasound patches. Insights from TTSHโs trials will guide the development of future portable and fully wearable ultrasound platforms.
We are proud of our TTSH Nursing Recruitment Operations & Business Strategic Team (ROBUST) for the recognitions they received from St. Margaret's Secondary School, Anderson-Serangoon Junior College, and the Medical Alumni Association Student Chapter for their ongoing partnership and outreach efforts for students.
During the various engagement sessions, the students interacted with our nurses to find out more about the nursing profession, and were taught simple hands-on life-saving skills - lessons that are not taught in the classroom.
Our ROBUST nurses will continue to reach out to as many students as possible, igniting their curiosity and interest to perhaps join the healthcare workforce one day.
Our PLC staff and liaison officers partner closely with our specialists and clinic teams to help patients referred by GPs navigate their care journey with clarity and coordinated support.
Behind every call is collaboration, connecting clinics, patients and hospital teams to ensure each referral is supported with care and continuity from the start.

This International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the incredible partnership between our Clinic 2A nursing team โ led by Nurse Manager Sr Mary Roshini and Nurse Clinician Sr Sarah Chen โ and our dedicated volunteers, Mr Henry Soh from ColRect Buddies and Mr Chiu Ku Ee from Walnut Avengers.
Together, they built the Patient Education Corner into a warm, welcoming space where patients are guided to the right psychosocial support through a seamless referral process. Every interaction offers patients clarity, comfort, and a sense of support.
Thank you, volunteers, for journeying with our patients.
Meet Run Qi and Yi Ling, two of our Hybrid Nurse Clinician-Scientists, who spend half of the week in their respective wards, and the other half honing their areas of interest - conducting research studies to address gaps within the nursing profession.
At TTSH, our nurses have the opportunity to take on hybrid roles to pursue their passion and value-add to the nursing profession. These areas include research, innovation, informatics, business strategy and more.

๐๐ ๐๐๐ช ๐๐ ๐ฃ ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ ๐จ: Humanising ICU care in our SICU
In the ICU, waking up can feel overwhelming โ machines, alarms and unfamiliar surroundings. Our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) team brings early Occupational Therapy right to the bedside, using familiar photos, music and routines to help patients stay grounded and connected during critical moments.
Alongside this, Singaporeโs first SICU Befriender Programme trains volunteers to offer presence, conversation and gentle engagement when families canโt be close. Together, our clinicians, therapists and volunteers create an environment where patients feel safe, supported and never alone in their recovery.
๐Because even in critical care, healing begins with connection.
