Does Root Canal Treatment Hurt?

There is a common misconception that root canals are painful, so many people are afraid of the procedure. The pain usually felt is caused by the injury or infection in the tooth and not the procedure itself. In fact, root canal (also known as endodontic treatment) is done to eliminate pain.

Local anaesthesia is used during the procedure of root canal treatment so our patients feel comfortable and doesn't have to worry about the pain. Sometimes the nerves in the teeth being treated become damaged due to infection or decay, and you may feel little to no discomfort.

We did it, team! 🎉🎉🎉 Cheers to a great Month of March and as an excuse we just wanted to celebrate with a fun night out. Last weekend, we hit a private event space and sang our hearts out! 🎤🎶

Dear Friends of 1728 Dental, Yesterday 1728 Dental’s very own Dr Jessalynn Sukamto or “Dr Jess” as she is affectionately known, engaged a group of young minds from Eton House Surubaya, Indonesia (#etonhousesurubaya) on her personal journey to becoming a dentist. Dr Jess shared how dentists help kids like them look after their teeth especially after consuming sugary foods & drinks due to the bacterial “sugar bugs”. There was also a demonstration by Dr Jess on the proper technique of teeth-brushing and how the kids can make brushing more fun and enjoyable by listening to their favourite songs as they brush to meet the minimum brushing duration of 2 minutes. Dr Jess suggested parents or elder family members could get involved by supervising the kids as they help them to floss their teeth.
